The theme this week is by Sandy which is "Falling". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave,Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.
We lost an Internet friend this week. Most of you know that I previously worked on Sky Watch Friday and My World. The head of the two groups, Klaus Peter of Virtua Gallery, passed away this week. This was a complete surprise to me. Both Sandy and Mac worked with Klaus. My World was Klaus's idea. He along with some others developed this blog group. In honor of Klaus, who was a great animal photographer, I am showing some local fawn triplets. They are running without there mother. I do hope she is well.
I first saw one fawn in my back yard.
I then saw two fawns.
There were three running together right up the front lawns.
They are pretty fearless and this one came within 10 feet. I think Klaus would have enjoyed the photos.
For the theme this week I have chosen Falling into the pool. The grandsons were trying to jump through a ring in the pool. Here is Matt jumping onto a float.
Soccer boy goes butt first.
The header photo is of Matt hitting the mark as he Falls through the ring. See what the others have shown above.
The theme this week is by Dave which is "Literature". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave,Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.
The theme this week leaves you with a lot of directions to go. I thought I would take two pieces of litature and show you what I came through with the ideas behind them.
The first is "A River Runs Through It" by Norman McClean. It is a story of a Montana life (and fishing a river for trout). My favorite line is "Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world's great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of the rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters." My photos for this movie comes from the Cuyahoga River that runs through Kent, Ohio.
This is the Main Street Bridge, as a river runs through it.
A Wide view.
Here are some other river photos.
Here are some of the river rocks. Are the words of man hidden underneath?
I chose a play by Ernest Thompson, which I enjoyed, "On Golden Pond". The story of an aging family and life with a youngster. Yes, fishing is involved on the Maine lake. Both my choices were made into movies which I have enjoyed. The lake I fish had a glow from the Sun this morning and I used it for my header.

The theme this week is by Lanny which is "Greetings". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny, Dave,Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.
This was a tough theme for me. It took a lot of thinking on what to show. I finally decided on this greeting between my granddaughter and her friend. She was getting ready for some target practice.
My grandson's giving a greeting.
Colleen and Marty sharing a greeting.
I decided the Greeting on this sign for my header. Here is a close-up on the greeting on the sign just off our front porch.
You can see what the others have shown above.
The theme this week is by myself which is "Black & White". Mac, Gail's Man,Lanny, Dave,Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.
This is the moon in all it's glory in Black and White.
Here is an early morning scene on the lake. Even though it is in color it still looks like Black and white at dawn.
My favorite fish is the Black Crappie. They look good in Black and White.
I chose to feature a photo of a sketch my brother-in-law Gene made called "The Hand of God". He is so talented as you can see. He has lung disease and at 50 has a little time left.
You can see what the others have shown at the above links.
The theme this week is by Gail's Man which is "Romance". Mac, Gail's Man,Lanny, Dave,Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.
This was a tough one for me. Every theme poses its own problems. I started out with some romance from nature with a pair of mallards traveling together.
The next shot is these canada Geese with the romance causing an increase in population.
I chose this phoot from today with the couple who went on the lake in a box the boy had made. I talked them off the lake because they had no life vest while in their box. There must be some real romance to go on the lake in a box.
You can see the others from the links above.
The theme this week is by Mac which is "Below the Water Line". Mac, Gail's Man,Lanny, Dave,Sandy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesday and start the voting after that.
I really love this theme, I had some aquarium photos that I couldn't retrieve so I went with new lake shots. Here is a crappie from below the water line that hit on a curly tail jig.
Here are a deer and heron partially underwater. I love the heron reaction to the deer.
Here are some fish below the water line in a little stream.
The header is a plant that grows Below the Water Line, water lilies.
