My World #17

This is my posting for the My World meme . It is hosted by Klaus, Tom, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were over 100 people showing their worlds to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.

This is a continuation of my bridge series with the River Bend Bridge. This neighborhood would have never been developed without the bridge. You can see the others post on bridges by clicking on the Bridges of Kent below. This is the newest bridge in Kent and it goes across to the River Bend neighborhood. It is a wonderful structure on a neat stretch of the Cuyahoga River. This is an upstream side of the bridge. These shots were taken at the end of November before the big snows started. This is across the street from Davey Tree building which I showed last week and you pass the Standing Rock Cemetery as you enter the bridge.
This is the downstream side of the bridge.
I took this photo to get an artsy view of the bridge through the dead weed clusters.
I even went on the bridge to show the downstream look of the Cuyahoga River. Standing Rock is in the river just below this area.

Try to visit some of the neat places around the world that are showing you Their Worlds.

FG,
This bridge is quite ornate in its design. I was so busy looking at all the detail, gas (?) lights, wrought iron railing, large columns at its base, big block like supports that I didn't notice how narrow the river was. lol For some reason I thought it would be bigger and moving more water. Quite an impressive bridge!!;-)

You certainly had a lot of snow! The bridge is great! Aren't bridges important?

I especially like the street lamps on that fancy bridge!

Love the artsy shot with dead weeds! Ha! The streetlamps make it look very warm and inviting!

Looks like a sturdy bridge. I'm glad you said when the photo was taken because I was wondering why there's so little snow, the grass still looks green and there's no ice on the river. ;-)

You can show me the bridge anytime, all year round. They make an excellent subject just like this.

Nice bridge shots. Will you be our bridge over troubled water, Fishing Guy? LOL! Did you like how the Grammys turned out for your country music stars?

I especially like the first photo - something about the blue sky, the green grass, and the snow. The bridge is very cool!

That's a famous river: its nice to get a look at it up close, and before it iced over, which presumably it is now. That's a good spot for a photo point to compare bare leafs of winter with spring bloom.

I like the reflections of the bridges and trees in the water. Our water surfaces are pretty solid around here.

What a pretty bridge---I like the photo taken through the weeds best. I won't tell you how long it took me to learn to say "Cuyahoga"!

Beautiful - and "before the snow" is our latest version of "the good old days"

That's a wonderful bridge. It's pretty.

I do enjoy your world. Thanks.

That's a pretty still surface for a river! I know it must be moving since it's not frozen, but the surface is amazingly flat. But you got fantastic reflections off it, so I'm glad it decided to behave for ya!

I really enjoyed your bridge post. I have watched many shows on building them. It is sad to saw we have very few old ones left in Missouri. I plan a post of one of our in St. Louis. Maybe next week.

This is the prettiest bridge you've presented so far - I LOVE it! I see that a lot of your female readers agree, so maybe it's a female thing? Beautiful nevertheless.

You have had snow like we had. Fortunately, for us and hopefully for you, the snow is almost gone as it has turned warm here and I think it is or hasjavascript:void(0) been raining some.

Nice shots and nice bridge. Love the lamp posts on it. I wish the bridges I want to shoot were this accessible.

What a lovely ornate bridge I especially love the lights. You obviously have a good community as I don't see any graffiti usually such lovely white areas are such a target.
