This is my posting for the My World meme . It is hosted by Klaus, Tom, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were over 100 people showing their worlds to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.
This is a continuation of my bridge series with the River Bend Bridge. This neighborhood would have never been developed without the bridge. You can see the others post on bridges by clicking on the Bridges of Kent below. This is the newest bridge in Kent and it goes across to the River Bend neighborhood. It is a wonderful structure on a neat stretch of the Cuyahoga River. This is an upstream side of the bridge. These shots were taken at the end of November before the big snows started. This is across the street from Davey Tree building which I showed last week and you pass the Standing Rock Cemetery as you enter the bridge.

FG,
This bridge is quite ornate in its design. I was so busy looking at all the detail, gas (?) lights, wrought iron railing, large columns at its base, big block like supports that I didn't notice how narrow the river was. lol For some reason I thought it would be bigger and moving more water. Quite an impressive bridge!!;-)
Now THAT is a pretty bridge! I have never seen a bridge with such a design.
You certainly had a lot of snow! The bridge is great! Aren't bridges important?
I especially like the street lamps on that fancy bridge!
Love the artsy shot with dead weeds! Ha! The streetlamps make it look very warm and inviting!
Yap such a pretty bridge and it does look very new.
Looks like a sturdy bridge. I'm glad you said when the photo was taken because I was wondering why there's so little snow, the grass still looks green and there's no ice on the river. ;-)
I love that bridge. Excellent photos.
I always love your bridge shots, these are awesome.
Have a great week!

Great bridge Fishing Guy, love all the angles.
Interesting bridge, very modern.
Fancy, dancy bridge, Tom... Did your city have some extra money on their hands???? ha ha... Like those lamps!
Very impressive.
Thanks,
Betsy
I love the last picture!
I like the view off the railing best.
Very fancy bridge.
Those are beautiful shots of the bridge. The bridge itself is so attractive and what a lovely landscape too.
I like this bridge, Tom. Your 'artsy' photo is quite good.
You can show me the bridge anytime, all year round. They make an excellent subject just like this.
Nice bridge shots. Will you be our bridge over troubled water, Fishing Guy? LOL! Did you like how the Grammys turned out for your country music stars?
I especially like the first photo - something about the blue sky, the green grass, and the snow. The bridge is very cool!
enjoyed your post and the bridge...has it recently been renovated? it looks pretty new. you will have to capture it some evening when it is all lit up:)
thanks as always for sharing your world with all of us.
have a great week

That's a famous river: its nice to get a look at it up close, and before it iced over, which presumably it is now. That's a good spot for a photo point to compare bare leafs of winter with spring bloom.
I like the reflections of the bridges and trees in the water. Our water surfaces are pretty solid around here.
What a pretty bridge---I like the photo taken through the weeds best. I won't tell you how long it took me to learn to say "Cuyahoga"!
Beautiful - and "before the snow" is our latest version of "the good old days"
That's a wonderful bridge. It's pretty.
I do enjoy your world. Thanks.
That's a pretty still surface for a river! I know it must be moving since it's not frozen, but the surface is amazingly flat. But you got fantastic reflections off it, so I'm glad it decided to behave for ya!
Very interesting to take a stroll and look around you on the bridge. Lovely.
I love that river!
Wonderful design and architecture on this bridge, love the lamps too.
Another fine bridge post, Fishing Guy. I like this bridge: it has a good modern design and looks very pleasant.
I really enjoyed your bridge post. I have watched many shows on building them. It is sad to saw we have very few old ones left in Missouri. I plan a post of one of our in St. Louis. Maybe next week.
nice pictures and landscapes of country! nice week!
Thats a beautiful bridge Tom. I like the look of the woods behind it, ideal for looking for bugs. :)
great shot of the bridge! And an ever expanding city scape.
This is the prettiest bridge you've presented so far - I LOVE it! I see that a lot of your female readers agree, so maybe it's a female thing? Beautiful nevertheless.
You have had snow like we had. Fortunately, for us and hopefully for you, the snow is almost gone as it has turned warm here and I think it is or hasjavascript:void(0) been raining some.
The engineering that goes into building bridges is amazing. The design on this one is pretty too!
This a pretty old bridge....very scenic looking down the river.
That sure is a pretty bridge, great shots.
Lovely, the colours of your world, and the names are beautiful too.
What a pretty bridge, FG!
You've caught it very nice also
A beautiful bridge! It always pleases me when necessary things are made to be picturesque as well.
Nice shots and nice bridge. Love the lamp posts on it. I wish the bridges I want to shoot were this accessible.
What a lovely ornate bridge I especially love the lights. You obviously have a good community as I don't see any graffiti usually such lovely white areas are such a target.
I dont what is there in bridges, they are always beautiful!
You do have some very fancy interesting bridges in your area, this is a nice one.
