Today's Flowers #27

My friends Luiz, Denise and Pupo run the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 7 GMT is the post time.

This is a wild flower that grows in the Spring and Summer at the dock of the lake that I fish. They look like some sort of Daisey. You can see a lot of blooms yet to burst into color.
I used the petal color to crop them out for a closer look.
If you know the name to be different let me know.
There are a lot of neat flowers to go and see throughout the world.

The yellow framing really brings out the colors of those flowers! Very nice!

Hi Tom- If I'm not mistaken, it looks like you have found one the Bidens species, or tickseed sunflower. They are in the same family as sunflowers, purple coneflowers, and daisies called the Asteraceae or compositae, because each flower head is made up of many, many little flowers.

Good stuff, thanks for sharing!

How happy those little flowers are - me, too. We are having a glorious day here...little Emily and I just returned from a l-o-n-g walkl. It was wonderful.

They look like something we call butterflower (butter = yellow) but I really don't know. Guess you should listen to Tom! Anyhow, they are beautifull!

It seems a lot of us are yearning for spring and posting colorful shots to forget about the cold and gray outside.
Nice shots!

Lovely yellow flowers, enjoyed these immensely, including the very nice oval frame. Roll on Spring but in the meantime we look at your pretty flowers!

My guess would have been bur marigold, which is on the smae page in my Audubon Guide as the tick sunflower. They both bloom August to October, and are about the same size. From here, you need an expert to identify it.
But I agree that it is a colourful flower, and the yelloe frame helps to make the blossoms stand out!

Love the yellows in that flower. Yes, does seem like a cousin of daisies, sunflowers and other asteraceae. Fun to be able to learn the actual name of that particular flower.

Beautiful frame, which matches the flowers! I am afraid I don't know the name either. But it seems that your namesake knows the name.
