Sky Watch Season # 4 Episode # 46

Sky Watch Friday This is the place. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were a lot of people with beautiful Sky photos last week. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post. You can link at 3:00 PM EDT on Thursdays. SWF is run by Klaus, Wren, Sandy, Sylvia and myself.

I'm pleased to share some more photos from Mexico. This is the city of Leon, Mexico - population of 1,000,000 people. I was on an overlook with a neat sky.
Looking back I was near a church on a hill. What a neat structure and many people make a pilgrimage to the top of the hill.
But this is the real view of the church and all the communication devices. It definitely takes away from the beauty.

This was a neat cloud that I thought looked like a fish surely ready to bite. it was in my daughters back yard. What do you think?
See a lot of other great skies above.

beautiful shots,i love the idea of the fish same thing when i found a dolphins out of my skywatch....its funny we can always have something out of the clouds formation....

But if you turn that idea around - people in the 21st century don't build churches any longer. Our monuments now are skyscrapers and communications towers. So we are simply continuing to build our monuments on the high land. Maybe in a couple hundred years ago, our descendants will be preserving them!
And, yes, that cloud is so totally a fish!

Wow, that's such an original sight! I've never come across a church in the middle of telecom devices, really interesting!
God bless you!

Those towers are certainly competing with the church steeple! And, they have won out the territory...unfortunately. Very interesting sight but beautiful sky. I frequently try to see shapes and pictures in clouds like this...more often than not, there is something recognizable in them for a moment in time, anyway.

Quite a busy sky with all the towers, but they do take away form the old church.

Gaelyn said...

Nice view of Leon and I like the fish cloud. A shame about all those towers surrounding the church.

Smog! Great views of the city. Thanks for sharing

aw. too bad the towers spoil the view but really amazing structure nevertheless :)

I see a hungry fish, too!

That church sure does look odd with all those communication devices; you're right. I suppose churches have seen themselves as a different kind of communication device; now the gadgets all over the place perhaps underwrite the conversation!

Beautiful scenery...those towers do distract from the focal point of the photo...

I'm not sure even you could land that cloudy fish! You got some great sky pictures in Leon, but I agree that the cell towers certainly distract from the beauty of the church.

Your Mexican skies are lovely, but your header just takes my breath away.....

Beautiful skies. The church looked really beautiful and old but know what you mean about all those antenna. And yes the cloud in your daughter's garden definitely looked like a fish.

I agree. They should move the towers and give the church back its beauty.
That "fish" reminds me of a pirhanna (sp?).
