Header Competition Season 3 # 18 - "Let's Get Out of Here "
The theme this week by Gail's Man is "Let's Get Out of Here". Mac, Gail's Man, Dave,Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that. Let's get out of this northern snow and head to Florida. While I visited this southern climate I saw my first Florida Gopher Tortoise crossing the road. We stopped and I followed it into the landscape. Unlike the chicken the tortoise has a reason for crossing the road and I'll show you why.
Get off the road tortoise.

Now I know why you are called a gopher tortoise.
Underground you go just like a gopher but a lot slower.

We have gophers here...and I know what also abides in those gopher holes here: rattlesnakes!!

That is so amazing! That is what our snapping turtles do, too!
I've never caught one laying eggs, but snapped one in the sun! They are not dissimilar!
