"Recent Photos"
The theme this week is "Recent Photos" by Kathy. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I saw these ducks last week by the lake. They didn't look like mallards so I had to look them up. They are American Black Ducks. A first for me.
They were a family and not afraid.
The dark color helped to identify them.
I think they are a neat duck.

Not my theme choice but a fill in for our absent member. We miss you Craver VII.
But anyway, great ducks. Interesting to find new ones you haven't seen.
I should have had my camera the other day on the way to the doctor's--the American White Pelicans are back in the Valley for their summer vacation. They were flying in formation over Zillah.
Nice shots of the ducks! I have not seen that species here in Maryland.
I've never heard of that kind of duck, either. They certainly are pretty and very out of the ordinary!
