Reflections

The theme this week by Lew is "Reflections". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

This is one of my favorite things to do from the boat. I enjoy capturing birds and their reflections. Her are a pair of young Green Herons near the shore. What a show they put on with their colors.
This is a female Mallard Duck that doesn't have the normal coloring.
This Cormorant was drying it's wings on a buoy, what a show.
The morning mist made this shot special. There is the Great Blue Heron and the tree reflecting on the water.
Here is another in the cattails fishing the shoreline.
How about a Canada Goose in a wet parking lot, Pretty cool, eh.

"Vertical"

The theme this week by Christine is "Vertical". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

Today I thought of my Turkey trip and the wondrous vertical structures I saw when I was there. On a road where Paul the apostle may have walked in Ephesus you find a library where he may have shared Christ's teachings. Do you think they kept any of his letters there?
Some vertical structures still stand today in the land of many earthquakes.
It is amazing to see the Roman architecture remaining after all these years.
The architecture of the Turkish people is also amazing.
The minarets are an amazing structure as it climbs into the sky. They are used in the call to prayer each day.
How about an Egyptian obelisk brought by the Romans to Turkey climbing into the sky.

"Something Red"

The theme this week by Mac is "Something Red". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. Red and Grey are the colors of The Ohio State college football champions.

This is one that I enjoyed. I took a ride to see what red I found. This is a big red barn at Beckwith's Apple Orchard. There are some other building behind in red.
This is the back of the sales building with a big red apple on the rear wall. Do you think they sale apples?
We all are use to seeing the octagonal red stop sign.
I love this rose my neighbor grows in the summer.
Here is a red fuschia from a hanging basket I had on the porch. The hummingbirds enjoyed it.
This is one of my red tulips that grow in my flower bed.

"Spare Time"

The theme this week by Craver is "Spare Time". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that. Computer problems held me up this week, since Kathy was late Mac asked me to post.

My favorite Spare Time activities are Fishing (big surprise) and photography. I combine them both from my boat. Here is my grandson with a crappie he caught.
I usually target crappie and enjoy some good catches and eating.
The beauty of the lake does not escape me. The early morning is spectacular.
It has so many faces with the water, sun, fog and shoreline.
I do catch some stringers of crappie.a
I always enjoy the birds at the lake. There are three different species of water birds in this shot. Can you name them?
The cormorant always runs on the water to take off. I enjoy the splashing as it tries to take flight.
