The theme this week is "Favorite Animal" by me. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that.
I decided to use (big surprise) FISH as my favorite animal. After a dismal Spring things turned around as the weather got hot. I caught two Fish Ohio Award fish on 7-7. I had a great July and here are some of the highlights.
It was a 14" White Crappie and a 11" Regular Bluegill.
I brought home coolers full of fish throughout the Summer.
On 7-12 I caught a 13.5" White Crappie and a 13.25" Black Crappie.
Here is another day 7-27 with two big black Crappies over 13".
Just look at the size of these fish.
I caught 3 Small Mouth Bass during the summer. A 17", 19" (shown) and a 15" on my last trip. It was really fun to fight them and return them to the lake. These are new to the lake and growing fat on the shad.

"Colors"
The theme this week is "Colors" by Kathy. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Mondays and voting begins after that.
I decided to use for my header a view of the last day on Lake Hodgson. I enjoyed the view and the color reflections in the rippling water.
As you can see we are far behind in the leave change this year with some just coming into color.
There are some neat views as the leaves start to get their color.
This is a color change at the entrance to my house.

"Everyday Objects"
The theme this week is "Everyday Objects" by Christine. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I thought I would show a fire-pit. I enjoy the dancing flames. It has cooled off a lot in NE Ohio.
This is a decorative flower arrangement my wife made.
What time did I capture this today?
This is a birthday present Rachel made me with all the grand kids names. She was 7 at the time.
This is a view of a castle as we crossed the Alps 9 years ago.

"Through the Window - Showing Frame"
We are back from our break, the first one in several years. The theme this week is "Through the Window - Showing Frame" by Mac. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I decided to show some views from the house. After a hot Summer we went right into Fall. The trees are still green out the back looking South from the kitchen.
This is another southern view out the bedroom window.
Here is view out the bedroom window showing the Ohio Buckeye Tree looking North. Most of the leaves are gone.
Another Northern view out the front window. The Sun definitely makes a difference in the direction you are viewing.

"Water"
The theme this week is "Water" by Mac. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I chose a Water Lily on the water as my header.
Here is a pair of Water Lilies in the weed bed.
Here are the way the seagulls and cormorant keep out of the water.
The cormorants sit low in the water while diving for fish.
I was on the water today and caught two Fish Ohio size Crappies. A 13.5 " White Crappie on top and a 13" Black Crappie on the bottom.

"Going Strong"
The theme this week is "Going Strong" is a general theme. Mac, Kathy, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.
I edited last week post to let you know where I was.
The fishing is still going strong. I caught this 15" small mouth bass today from Lake Hodgson. This is the first one for me from the lake. I have caught a lot of large mouth bass but not these. A great fight and released back into the lake.
I had 30 crappie in this cooler. This catch fed 6 adults with a lot of leftovers.
The next day a catch of 20 crappie and a bluegill.
This was 14 crappie and 6 yellow perch. Certainly a good catch and going strong.
