Camera Critters #42

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

I was in the Wal-Mart parking lot early November and there were a bunch of Sea Gulls flying around.
I like flying birds so I spent some time trying to capture them against the gray sky.
I enjoy any flying capture but find it hard to do.
It was fun trying and these are my best shots.
I finally said goodbye as they flew away.
I do hope you enjoyed the show and will visit some of the other critters Misty has to offer on her Meme.

I love to watch them gliding. I have often wondered what first attracted them to parking lots.

Nice shots!!! You do a much better job than I do of catching birds on camera!

I think they are great shots! I can't even take a decent picture of a bird sitting down somewhere, let alone a flying one.

I live near the ocean and I see these all the time around our Wal-Mart. What's it about Wal-Mart that they like so much?

I love to watch them too. We use to have a red tail hawk being chased my a blue jay come by daily at my old home in St. Louis. I only see them by the highway here in Lake of the Ozarks mo. I love the close ups you get. What brand of camera do you use?

Yes, very difficult to capture. You did a good job...

Very hard to capture a flying bird-I have trouble with "sitting still" birds. You got some great shots-they look like they're from a book about birds!

Gulls are mad birds and they do seem to be moving inland more. Fabulous again.

One of the best reasons to visit Wallyworld! We have them at our walmart too. Good captures, not easy to do.

Those are really wonderful pictures! I can never figure why but there always seems to be some kind of birds hanging out at a WalMart.

I seem to be a step behind you again. I put some street lights on my blog for this SkyWatch. While taking some of them, I tried to get some birds flying, but did not get any in focus. I do have birds on one of the sets of lights, though.

Fishing Guy, you captured so well the flying seagull! And, as you rightly say, it's so difficult to make photos of flying birds.
Great sequence!

Those guys really fly inland to look for food. I bet they found the dumpsters at Wal Mart. They show up in droves here when a storm is blowing in---especially snow. But alas we haven't had snow yet this winter. Take care. Keep posting and I'll keep reading.

It's amazing what you see at a Walmart parking lot. Surprised to see such a bird in Ohio ... you must be great to one of the Great Lakes?

You did get some nice shots of the gull. We sometimes see them around here at Walmart and there is no ocean or lake for many, many miles around.

Those are some great shots! I know most people aren't big fans of seagulls, but when my hubby and I went to Mendocino for our anniversary, we had a beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Two "friends" (seagulls) joined us. They were very clean and well-behaved. They'd sit on our balcony rail and we'd throw them peanuts. The were quite entertaining! We named them "Stan" and "Stu"...

This is so funny....I just took photos of the gulls hanging out at Target today! I'll be posting them tomorrow! Isn't it amazing? Wonder what is going on in the gull world that is sending them to the shopping centers?? Good shots!
