I just got back from a trip to the Austin,Texas area so I'm sharing a pair of House Finches which I saw on the trip. This is the male in the tree.
The female was also in the same tree.

Welcome back.
I was surprised at the red in the male finch. You did a good job in all your photos.
The House Finch is a beautiful bird.
Blessings,Ruth
FG,
Glad to hear you were able to get away from all that snow and nasty temps for a while. Mr. Finch looks quite happy on that porch fan. They are quite colorful..and usually quite friendly around the feeders, also.
Bet you enjoyed the Texas weather, Tom. Do you have relatives there??? I think the hill country of Texas is the prettiest area in that state.
Great pictures of the House Finches.
Hugs,
Betsy
I love house finches, too. Nice shots!
I am glad you are back Tom. The finches come in so many colors and are really cute birds. I hope you had a great trip and am glad to know you arrived back safely. I would not want to be traveling on those roads.
Hey FG, Welcome Back to Blogland!
These little house finches are so pretty aren't they!
Welcome back, Fishing Guy.
These are beautiful shots!
What a pretty bird! thanks for sharing
That first shot looks like a stuffed animal.
they are beautiful!
Hey Tom, great captures of the House Finches! That male sure is red! According to Cornell, the male color comes from pigment in the food he eats. The redder the male, the more attractive he is to the female.
Those females, they just like us for our looks ;-)
Very good FG
... and you managed to get the couple.
Good job, that's quite a big difference between the mail and the female.
I'm happy to hear you are back safe and sound.
Your bird photos are delightful! It's amazing how well you captured them, the details and colors are amazing. Very nicely done!
Take care, my friend.
Excellent bird pics! Love the detail each shows. Hope your trip was fun!
Welcome back! The house finch looks a lot like the purple finches that visit my feeders. Cool!
I really enjoyed your Finch Photos today. Thanks for sharing.
Hugs and blessings,
I love the red on them - so pretty!
