Triangle Lake Bog comparison Winter to Summer.
I made a trip back today to a natural wonder near my home town. It is a kettle bog lake near Ravenna, Ohio. You can see the original posts here part 1 and part 2. This is the winter photo of the lake in its Winter browns.
You can see the Summer beauty of the lake surrounded by green.
The starkness of the Winter lake can be seen so readily.

I wanted to show you the Tamarack Tree in winter after it has lost it needle shaped leaves. Getting the exact trees was unbelievable to me when I saw the photos. You can see the Summer tree and it looks like a pine tree.
I do hope you visit some of the other great places around the world.

Hi Tom- Beautiful panormas and seasonal comparisons of triangle lake. Even though tamaracks were probably common in NE Ohio, now they are so rare that hardly anyone knows the tamarack as a native species anymore. Thanks for showing us all this jewel of Ohio's natural history.
Tom
Beautiful post.I like the way you took us through the seasons.Great idea.
Blessings,Ruth
What a beautiful location. It looks like a wonderful place to enjoy some peace and quiet!
Wow, what a beautiful place, all year 'round. And I'm glad someone else is living near a bog! LOL
The fact that you got the exact same trees blows my mind! I don't think you could have duplicated the composition better with a GPS.
And it's definitely a place well worth photographing.
The difference in summer and winter on the lake is really something incredible.
Really splendid photographs with beautiful landscapes each season!
great side by side comparison and what neat panoramic scenery regardless of season.
take care.
These are great. It struck me how the shape of the land--or the illusion of the shape of the land--is affected by its reflection in the water.
It's amazing what a difference a few months can make, isn't it? Your photos are gorgeous and really show that difference! Thanks as always for a great post! And for sharing your world!
Wow, great choice to have pictures from the same place in different time of year. Cool :-)
Excellent comparison shots. You got the exact same angles!
I've never seen or heard of a tamarack before. Nice to learn something new.
what a great series of winter/summer/winter/summer shots...and i think i like the summer views the best. indeed the fact you captures the trees spot-on is great.
have a lovely evening.

Hi
Thanks for sharing a piece of your world. It is a neat meme indeed.
The location seems like a perfect and natural place to vacation and just get away from it all...
Its great to see the same scene in summer and winter.
These are very nice photos, Tom. I have not seen Tamaracks in years.
Beautiful all the seasons!
These are just beautiful. Very interesting to have the shots to compare. Cool stuff. Hope you feel better soon!
Well, how cool is that? Great!
Really nice comparisons, especially that last Tamarac shot. Did you mark an X on the ground?
Well, if you took a little outing, you must be feeling better! I'm glad! I really like the contrasts in the photos taken at different times of the year.
It is universal in the Nothern Hemisphere this feeling of Spring. Really great to see those comparisons of seasonal changes.
Wonderful contrast of summer and winter. Easy to see why it's a favorite spot regardless of season. Thanks for sharing
Wow, i love that lush greeneries...so peaceful and so calm.
Amazing....I've never heard of the Tamarack tree before and its needle-like leaves. Beautiful photos. Thank you for your work with MyWorld and SkyWatch.

Wonderful photos... I love the Tamaracks... we have plenty of them that line the mountains here in the Rockies and I love the gorgeous golden colors in the Autumn just before they lose their needles... it's a beautiful sight!!
Nice sets of comparison. I too did a comparison post The Chinar's shade and shades. Such shots have lots of meaning, I feel
Oh WOW, I just love this post. The pictures are just amazing!
I hope to get back into the My World postings again next week. We have been pretty busy with remodeling and I haven't been near as active on the blog or with my camera lately and I MISS it so much.

I like the tamaracks in any season!
A beautiful boggy interlude. Thanks & Aloha-
What a sharp contrast between winter and summer Tom. The scenic shots are fantastic. This is indeed a beautiful place and I am betting the fishing is excellent too.
Nice to see the same scenery with different seasons. Very beautiful.
Very lovely comparison, Fishing Guy. What wonderful summer/winter landscapes! Both seasons are pleasant, each one with its own characteristic.
Amazing. I like the before-after/ Winter-Spring thing. Excellent post.
Good to have them both. I was drawn to the wintery ones because I´m so used to them now!
I see why you love your country! Beautiful!
There is such a vast difference between your summer and winter ours is not so different. I think I like the summer best.
Beautiful photos-I especially like the summer views. The difference in the trees appearance is unbelievable!
Wonderful post....I love seeing the different seasons there! Don't know what a kettle bog lake is, but will look it up.
