Camera Critters # 93 - Canada Geese

This past Fall I was at a little local lake and was taking photos of the  Canada Geese. I always think of Michele from Canada and all I learned from her when taking geese photos.

The geese were co-operative and did a lot of cool things as I approached.

I was even able to zoom in close to see the results of eating the grass.

They eventually tired of me and flew to the lake. I liked the shadows in this shot.

Later in the day the Sun was blocked by rain clouds and I got this moody photo at another lake.

Check out the neat critters at the above site.

Fabulous shots! I read a very interesting book about Canada Geese by Berndt Heinrich called The Geese of Beaver Bog. You might enjoy it! ~karen

They are all gone from here for now. But they will be passing by again soon on their journey North. I love to watch and listen to them when they're flying over.

Hi Fishing Guy,
Firstly your header is a stunner and was a worthy winner.
We get large flocks of these geese in winter... the farmers hate them but I do like to see them when I'm out and about...
I am trying to catch up on some blog visiting today... it as been my pleasure to come here and see and read your postings... catch up on Wednesday for this weeks header comp.

Hi Tom,

An excellent variety of geese shots. I look forward to late winter and early spring when they become easy to see again in our area.

Great shots. I still need to get some good shots of Canadian Geese. I see them in areas where I can't get off the road to "shoot" them!

Gee Tom... did you ever get a wonderful close up of his face!! Wow that's awesome.
Thank you for your kind words in here. You always say things that make me blush.
I am missing my feathered friends soooooo much and I cannot wait for them to make their return. It will be quite some yet but it's so exciting to think about it and their young ones in the spring time!!

Hope you are all doing well, and know that Marcell and I are thinking about you and we send our best wishes.
Hugs♥
