Header Competition Season 2 # 20 "Just Now"

The header theme this week by Lanny is "Just Now" Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

This weeks theme came at a good time. Last week we had a thaw and I went to the Cuyahoga River for some photos. The water was high and most of the snow was gone.

But this is North East Ohio and things change quickly. A storm front moved in and this is "Just Now". The roads were such a mess.
This snow plow wishes I would make tracks and get out of the way.
My neighbors grass was cool covered with the snow.
This is a friends back yard with a cool covering of the pine tree.
My header is from a trip I took "Just Now" to see how my fishing spot looked and here is the lake in its full glory. It will still be a while to put the boat on the water. Hard water is hard to get the bait into. The warm spell has made the ice unsafe to be on top.

Header Competition Season 2 # 19 "Tracks"

The header theme this week by myself is "Tracks".  Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

This was my theme so I had to think of what tracks meant to me. I thought of train tracks but saw no trains. Then I thought of excavator tracks. They run on tracks and were at the new bridge construction.

I decided to show the two pieces of equipment that were there. I like the blade on this one for snow removal.
Then I thought of all the tracks in my back yard. Between me, the deer, the squirrels and the rabbits there are a lot of tracks.

So here are the deer making the tracks.
This is a scared deer making tracks, maybe this is where the term "high tailing it" arrived in our language.
This shot as the girl hit the woods was my favorite and became my header.

Header Competition Season 2 # 18 How You See Yourself

The header theme this week by Mac is "How You See Yourself".  Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

This was an easy theme for me. As you know, I consider myself a fisherman and am on the boat throughout the seasons except Winter. I thought I would show my Fish Ohio catches this year. I had caught a 13" Fish Ohio Crappie during the year but in October I caught a 13 1/4" Crappie and a 9" Bluegill.
Two days later I caught a 10" Fish Ohio Bluegill. This is the one I turned in for the award.
I caught a 13 3/4" Fish Ohio Yellow Perch which was a record for me with three Fish Ohio award fish for the year.
I also caught a big Grass Carp on the last day on the water.
The photo I decided for my header is the fun side I showed on our Europe trip when my friend and I tried on these crazy hats in Innsbruck, Austria.

Header Competition Season 2 # 17 Cleaning

The header theme this week by Gail's Man is "Cleaning".  Mac, Gail's ManLanny, Dave and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and start the voting after that.

Darla, Martha and Tom W are on a break. Come back as soon as you are able my friends.

Cleaning photos this week have been all about cleaning driveways and streets. The snow storms I started in December have turned into February ice storms. We have had record snows and now this latest blizzard that moved in may set some Winter records. The good thing is Punxsutawney Phil  - Pennsylvania and  Buckeye Chuck - Ohio, the groundhog weather predictors, have called for an early Spring. So to show some results of "Cleaning" I show the following photos. This is my driveway after an 8" snow was cleaned by my snowblower.
Here is the small plow truck cleaning the circle across from my house.
This is at Kent State and the tractor they use to clean the streets and sidewalks. School was called off for two days.
Here is the big plow truck headed for my road. Please move and stop taking photos.
But what I have shown in my header is the cleaned roads being recovered by blizzard conditions we are having. First an ice storm and then freezing rain, sleet and snow with high winds. I'm ready for Spring and a thawed lake.
