RAILROAD

The theme this week by me  is "Railroad". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

This is a caboose at a local Mexican restaurant. You don't see them on trains any longer. I was able to get close enough to get some train photos. It sits on an abandoned  set of tracks.
The train wheel carries a lot of load. They are cut to a specific shape to carry the load.
Here is the stairs to get up into the caboose.
The coupler has to be strong to pull the loads of the train.
I was at the Main Street bridge last week and a train came up the railroad track. I heard it first as it signaled when crossing the road. I then saw it coming round the bend.
I had no idea how long it would be but with four engines it was loaded and pulling about 200 cars.
It was fun  to see it come under the bridge and one trip filled in two themes.

"FINISHED"

The theme this week by Kathy  is "Finished". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

Here is something I wished was FINISHED. This project was supposed to be done before September 1st and Kent State University was back in class. The traffic picks up greatly when school starts. This photo was taken today. Maybe this will  finish by October.
As you can see the construction is far from finished.
Here they are in construction.
They still have a long way to go. Check out this lack of roadway.
The bridge spans the tracks and the trains can pass.
You can see the original wall under this part of the span.
There was a discussion about this fence that delayed construction some. It is over the tracks to protect the trains. Of course, I was easily able to get the above photos which is above the track.

SHADOWS

The theme this week by Lew  is "Shadows". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

I thought I would use natural light to show the shadow. This wooden fish actually produced two shadows from the two windows in my man cave, Can you see the dark and light shadow?
This is the double shadow from the father and son fishing trip.
This is a mounted Red Ear Sunfish that I caught. It gave a strong shadow.
Mr. Pelican shadow was pretty neat.

E Pluribus Unum, or "Out of many, one"

The theme this week by Christine  is "E Plribus Unum". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

I thought about how to share this theme. It is a patriotic theme and what better to use then our national bird. The American Eagle gave me a fun pose.  It was one of many in the enclosure.
There were more in the enclosure along with the American flag.
Here are three in the show.
I had considered a Pink Flamingo which was one of many.
There were a many birds in this pond.
I think they are a showy bird,
