"Big Bird"

The theme this week by me is "Big Bird". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

My favorite Big Bird is the Great Blue Heron. I really enjoy capturing them in the wild. This one is walking along the Cuyahoga River.

 It got on this log to get a better fishing view. 

This one was fishing at Lake Hodgson.

"I Didn't expect to See That Here"

My daughter and her boyfriend were trying to ride the watercraft but they leaned the wrong way. I was lucky to have my camera out and here is result which I didn't expect to see.

 Once they started to lean it was all over.

My daughter decided to swim for shore while John was getting back onto the watercraft.

Whoops, that's not as easy as it looks but was fun to watch.

Winter

The theme this week by Lew is "Winter". Mac, Kathy, Craver, Lew, Christine and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT on Wednesdays and voting begins after that.

The theme fit perfect with 8" of snow overnight and the temperatures dropped to 10F. I dressed warm and shoveled the front sidewalk.

My wife got a couple of neat photos of the flying snow.

She got the shovel full flying away. It was heavy wet snow stuck together.

The Cuyahoga Valley had a cover of snow.

This bridge area over the turnpike was covered with snow.

I was done shoveling and using the snow blower and it cleaned up pretty well.

"Something New"

The weather is certainly is something new. It was 50 F a few days ago and now it is 9 F with a lot of snow.  The streets are being covered with snow at the new Acorn Corner.

 The neighborhood has a blanket of snow.

The deck has a new cover of snow.

The cars have a pile of snow.

The trees out back have a white coating looking through the storm.

"Steaming Into the New Year"

Well, I'm late but I woke up and remembered that it was Thursday. A day late but here it is.

When I thought of steaming I thought of the lake and the views on early Spring mornings.

 As you can see the mist comes directly off the lake.
