Sky Watch Friday 4-4

If you would like to join Sky Watch Friday go to Wiggers World.

We had another grey week in NE Ohio except for one gorgeous day. My buddy at work said what is that blue color in the sky. I thought Sky Watch Friday.
The Cuyahoga River runs by a grain storage tower that I thought made a good focal point. I took this from the bridge above the river. This shot is from last weeks trip to the river.
Her is a view from an observation tower on the wing dam. You can check out some other pictures from this week on my Cuyahoga River post on the label below. You can click on the picture and see the flag in the wind.
This morning I snapped this picture to show the Moon waning into it's last eighth as the sun rose this morning. You can see it low on the horizon above the second house from the left if you click on the photo it's a little blurry. I took it hand held.

Happy Birthday to a Friend

Happy Birthday Bobbie. She likes the TV show Grey's Anatomy so when I saw the card I had to purchase it. LOL, Your friend Fishing Guy.
One of my wife's best friends is having a birthday tomorrow. She will be fifty something again. I don't know how long she can use that fifty something story but I really have my doubts if it is still applicable. Just kidding. My wife and her spend a lot of time together and when I went to Applebee's for supper with them a few weeks back the waitress wonder who I was. I told her I belonged, at least I thought so. The two of them do clean up pretty good when they want to.

The Cuyahoga River Called Me Back

The Cuyahoga called me back to its banks to snap some pictures from below the bridge.

Oh Cuyahoga, your beauty does not wain
as you flow South on your way to the North.
I ask you to give me a little of your time
as you on your your travels go forth.

I know where you're heading as you travel along
the path you must have traveled through eons of time
to the banks of the great lake named Erie your waters do flow
just to satisfy me in this little rhyme.

So go on your way and we're happy to say
Cuyahoga we saw you pass by today.

The old train station above the Cuyahoga which is now The Pufferbelly Restaurant.
Looking upstream through the bridge.
The water looked powerful when it rejoins.
It then goes around the dam and goes to a full flow as it goes on its way.
The downstream rock from above in a close-up.
The trees just past the rock up close.
Across the way we have a fisherman trying his luck.
"Did you catch anything?" from the snow run off swelled Cuyahoga? "No but I caught a 32 inch Northern Pike last year about this time." Well, I say to myself, the water is way too cold. Do you know the water is still below 40 degrees F. The call of the waters is very strong.

Random Photos

I was driving home on one of the first sunny days of the week and this little brook called out "Fishing Guy, come over here. I'm bubbling along putting on a show." Guess what, it was a pretty little brook. It even had a couple animal crossing. As I continued on my way I saw this Shetland Pony along the road. Her name was Bell and she had a foal during the Winter. The owner was friendly and allowed me to take pictures. She was proud of the little horse. Bell was a friendly little horse but she was really was camera shy.
When I got home there was progression of the flower beds. Here are some Daffodils that are coming up through the mulch at home.
I like the way these tiny Crocus forced their way around the rock surrounding it like a necklace.
Here are some tulips that came through the mulch recently and are thinking it is Spring.

Josh Turner 'Everything Is Fine'

Josh Turner was a new singer in 2004 and I enjoyed his music. My wife and I went to Pepsi Roadhouse in PA to see him perform in 2005 and he was singing with Daniel Peck as the opening act. That was one great show. Josh is a family man and his wife is the back-up and keyboard on many of his songs. He has released his third album in late 2007 named 'Everything Is Fine' (this is Josh talking about the CD). My wife gave me a copy at Easter because I had mentioned I was looking for it because of the latest release. I also have his first Two CD releases which are winners.
His great bass sound again resonates though the songs on this CD. He reminds me of the great Johnny Cash when I listen to him sing. He was inducted into Grand Ole Opry in 2007 which is an honor for a young singer. He has received many awards and he and his wife had a little boy last year. He is touring with Carrie Underwood this year. Josh does a lot of ballads which I really enjoy. There are 12 songs and one is better then the next.

The CD named song 'Everything Is Fine' will do quite well when released.
The first release from the CD was 'Firecracker' a fast moving song about his wife. This is a cute song and a good video.
The second release 'Another Try' with Trisha Yearwood is a sure hit and hit #9 this week. Josh and Trisha did a great job on this love song. This has been my opening song on the blog for a while. I really enjoy the sound.
You have to check this one out Jedi. It is called 'The Longer the Wait (The Sweeter the Kiss)'. It has a Scottish sound and ends with the bagpipes closing the song.
'The Way He Was Raised' is an interesting story of Jesus and is a great song. I relly enjoy the way Josh tells his story. you can see Josh's faith in his songs.
Well how about Josh growing up, you have 'South Carolina Low Country' to hear his story.

'Trailerhood', 'Soulmate', 'Baby I Go Crazy', 'So Not My Baby', 'One Woman Man' and 'Nowhere Fast' with R&B Soul singer Anthony Hamilton completes the album.

This is the complete album and is only a sampling of how good it is. This is a sure one to buy if you like country music.

I Added an Outdoor Section of Blogs

I know this change to an outdoor section is going to cause me to move some things around but that is alright. I'll do it on the weekend.

I added Travis Wilkins Iowa Nature Photos. Travis has an eye for the outdoors when he makes his treks through the woods. Travis is a school teacher and does a great job with outdoor explanation. This is a stream where he was catching the water movement. Stacey Huston is an artist with the camera when it comes to outdoor photos. Her blog is called A "Focus" in the Wild, a neat play on words. Here is a nice shots from her blog of a flock of Turkeys with one gobbler strutting. This a picture of a Mountain Lion she had recently with a great post.
Stacey's husband, Mike "Hawk" Huston, who works with her on the blog has his own blog called High Country Archer where he shows his prowess with a bow. There are some great hunting photos on the sight. Here is Mike looking for some game. Stacey told me he is using an older style long bow. He uses a primitive weapon similar to what the Indians used to hunt.
You can check them out and decide what you think.
