buckeye tree

We built the house we are living in about 35 years ago. Since I did the landscaping I wanted to have a buckeye tree because of living in Ohio. The tree was 6 foot high when I planted it. It towers over the house now. Buckeyes are a slow growing tree so it is a strong tree. The tree loses it leaves at the end of August but this happened a little later this year.

Here are the buckeyes in their shell before they drop from the tree. a few leaves are still on the tree but the green color is fading.

There are a lot of buckeyes on the ground. The squirrels are normally stocking up there trees homes for the winter. They also bury the buckeyes for later and I get new little trees growing in the spring. I gave Jedi some buckeyes when he was up north for the marathon.

power washing continued

The deck floor is complete. It did some real changing as I washed it.

I also did the signature deck builders fan on the railing while doing the deck. I think it came through the power washing really nicely. I didn't do the complete railing except in the fan area.
Here is a view down the stairway that hasn't been completed. I need to finish the railings on the inside and then go to the stairway and the outside of the rails. It is really coming together well. I might finish it by next week.

power washing porch/deck

I am finished with the front porch and walk with my power washing. I also did the driveway and the front sidewalk.
This is a picture of the Craftsman power washer on the deck. The deck has a dark gray color before I start the job.

This picture shows the deck when it is partially complete. I will post the complete deck when I finish the rest of the deck.

Fishing was tough this weekend

I really like being out on the lake but I enjoy some activity. The lake was really slow this weekend with no fish activity. There were some Canadian Geese flying over but nothing else was moving. Even my trolling motor and fish finder were giving me trouble. I think I got those straightened out. I'll have to wait until next weekend to find out if they are.
I got tickets to the Keith Urban / Gary Allen concert coming to the Q on November 9th. It should be a great country concert.

In Honor of Pirates Day

I found a web sight that gives you a pirate name. Mine is Dirty Tom Rackham. www.piratequiz.com/. I told them I bathe daily but it didn't make any difference.
I'm still having trouble putting in HTML's and don't know why.

Work vs. Prison:

This is too close to true for me.

Work vs. Prison:

Just in case you ever get these two environments mixed up, this should make things a little bit clearer.

@ PRISON You spend the majority of your time in a 10X10 cell
@ WORK You spend the majority of your time in an 6X6 cubicle /office

@ PRISON You get three meals a day fully paid for
@ WORK You get a break for one meal and you have to pay for it

@ PRISON You get time off for good behavior
@ WORK You get more work for Good behavior

@ PRISON The guard locks and unlocks all the doors for you
@ WORK You must often carry a security card and open all the doors for yourself

@ PRISON You can watch TV and play games
@ WORK You could get fired for watching TV and playing games

@ PRISON You get your own toilet
@ WORK You have to share the toilet with some people who pee on the seat

@ PRISON They allow your family and friends to visit
@ WORK You aren't even supposed to speak to your family

@ PRISON All expenses are paid by the taxpayers with no work required
@ WORK You get to pay all your expenses to go to work, and they deduct taxes from
your salary to pay for prisoners

@ PRISON You spend most of your life inside bars wanting to get out
@ WORK You spend most of your time wanting to get out and go inside bars

@ PRISON You must deal with sadistic wardens
@ WORK They are called managers

THERE IS SOMETHING SERIOUSLY WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE!!!!
