One Year Anniversary

This is blogaversary number one. It was one year ago on 9/10/07 that I made my first blog. I started out a worried blogger who wondered if anyone would read what I did on my blog. Here I am 444 blogs later and am confident enough to share my hobbies with my friends. I have had over 15,000 visits to the blog. My blog has changed during the year, one of the changes was a new Canon SX100IS camera that increased my ability to make some fun photos. I thank any regular visitor and I try to check out everyone who visits me. The other thing that changed were the friends I have found on the web. I am not as good of a photographer as the people I see on the web, but I am happy with where I am right now. Will I get a new and better camera? That is a question that goes through my mind quite often. I guess I have to say to myself, we will see and you reading this will be the first to know.

You as a new blogger really should have no fear. If people come onto your blog that are wrong for you, delete their comments. This does happen with spammers and scammers. If they don't have an audience they will leave. If you like someones blog you should let them know you are there. I hope you realize that comments are the life blood of blogging. Have fun and people will realize that you are making a contribution from your life to their life.

So, happy blogging to all of you and let us see who will win the blog prize.

I would like to say a hearty thank you to all my regular readers and I will have a surprise drawing at the end of the month with a pick of someone who visits my site during September. It will be chosen at random and it will be based on my blog remarks. I will announce the winner and show the prize on October first.

A blog does take work but it is fun.

Congratulations! Perhaps upon my one year anniversary I will have so many loyal readers! I confess to being a wee mite envious!

Of course, I adore your blog and it is easy to see why you have so many fans (I am certainly one of them). You photos and commentary are always upbeat and inspiring. Be it a horse, bird, flower, or bug -- you capture its beauty and fully appreciate its place in this world. What a delight to read your posts!

Even more amazing is your dedication to your readers -- faithfully commenting on their blogs and answering their questions. You set the bar high for the rest of us lazy sods, let me tell you.

Again: congratulations and many happy returns!

Blessings!

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm sorry I was so late in finding your blog, but once I did, I read your archives and have been a regular reader since then.

I'm a relatively new blogger and I must say, I've been very surprised at how much pleasure it gives me. At first I gave little thought to what other people might think, but once the comments began, I found I was no longer writing just for myself and family.

Oh my yes blogs take work and time. If you have no time and hate work then try just reading blogs, part time. LOL

Congratulations on your anniversary and I know there is a lot more where this all came from.

I am not sure if you are an old Army guy or not but I posted a true Army tale on my Dances on Sunshine blog that has some nasty Army language in it.

I mean it didn't seem nasty at the time as that's pretty much how we all talked.

Anyway, I know you like to look around my blogs and if you stumble into it, today, you might be shocked so I wanted to warn you or anybody else.

Happy Anniversary!

I'm glad you're happy with your photography because it's worth being happy about. Every picture doesn't have to be art (though many of yours are), but it is the story they tell, and you are a master story-teller with your photography and blog. I like coming here, even with the country music! (It's almost soothing.)

Andn blogging IS a lot of work. For you to have 444 posts in 365 was a LOT of work! Especially with all those pictures!

As a new blogger, I totally appreciated this post.

One question: I am not understanding this contest/give away thing completely. Is it just for fun and up to the blogger??

Congrats on one year, can't wait to have my one year:)

Gosh Fishing Guy - a whole year - I can hardly believe it. We started out almost at the same time. It is hard work to post every day but look at your following!
You have come a long way in many new directions. I was just thinking the other day that yours might soon become a nature blog - you seem to love it so.
Congrats again and here's a toast to not just another year but many.

I think we all wondered at first whether anybody will come to visit. It is so great to receive comments, it is like going to the mailbox and getting unexpected 'good' mail. I enjoy your visits to my blog, and I enjoy visiting your blog. Keep it up. I am not close to my year yet.

Congratulation on your blogaversary! Here's to another year!
This post hits home for me. I battle every day whether to keep mine going or not.
Sometimes I'm not sure if people like my blog or they are just being nice and commenting because I have commented on theirs.
I really enjoy your blog, keep up the good, not work, but hobby!

Thank you for the encouragement to those of us who are new at blogging. My Mom and I have discovered the joys of sharing and "meeting" new people and we feel like we are making some great friends, as well as learning about the world and about plants and well, so many things! I'm glad I decided to look at your blog. I enjoyed my visit today very much and will visit again! Gonna add you to my bloglist!
