Today's Flowers #6

My friend Luiz Santilli Jr. has started a Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. You can get in on the start. Sunday at 7GMT is the post time.

My offer today is a little unusual but it is the State Flower of several states. As I drive to work I am honored tosee a show from the Goldenrod's yellow blaze in the fields. You may say but it's just a weed and it causes allergies to flair. I say the beauty of the field is enhanced by the wild plant and I hope this picture proves my point. You can click on any photo to get a better view. My second shot is from an flower that is alive with much activity.
I shot this bee and bug on macro and the focus isn't perfect throughout the shot but the bug was so unusual.
I tried to get in closer, note the color of the bug and the Goldenrod.
This is my parting shot from a quick little bee from behind.
I do hope you enjoyed the travel through the Goldenrod with no sneezing.

Goldenrods are beautiful. A harbinger of autumn. And I believe it's a myth that they cause allergies. They just happen to bloom at exactly the same time as ragweed (not at all pretty), so get some of the blame.

I love that colorful bug!

We have planted goldenrod in our church garden, and it's really lovely. Goldenrod gets a bad rap for causing allergies; Louise had it right -- ragweed is usually to blame.

So beautiful! Goldenrods are called Bienenweide here with us. WHen they bloom you can be sure that autumn is there, and the bees eat as much of the goldenrod's nectar as they can to get survive winter time :)
Have a nice week! Hugs, Maria

My kind of tour of goldenrod -- a virtual one! They are so beautiful and a little troublesome to me but well worth a walk near them. Thanks for sharing, Guy!

You have every right to make a stop to photograph these beauties.

And these insects? That party...

AAAAhhhhhhhh Chew!! Couldn't resist. I grew up in Alabama and goldenrod was the state flower for years then they changed it to the camilla. I still love it tho. Nice pictures!

Nice shot of the Golden Rod. Fortunately, we don't have it here in my backyard. LOL. We don't have much of anything today except one grand mess.

We had the tail end of Hurricane Ike here all day. I lost my cherry tree and a lot of limbs. The neighbors lost three trees and they fell on a power line and that weight broke the power pole. Not a good day here in SW Ohio.

Mine are on Canon Pixels

Nice Goldenrod shots. This one does attract a lot of bugs, Wasps and bees. I wait for the one to bloom, that is a butterfly magnet. Hopefully it will be back this year.
Cheers, Klaus

Excuse me, but I think I'm gonna sneeze! They are lovely flowers, even though they mean buying tissues for many family members. Oh, or is it the ragweed?

Nice photos of yellow and yellow and more yellow.

It is beautiful. I captured a bumble bee in the goldenrod last year with the pollen all over it. Goldenrod does make good photographs, the color is so bright.
