Today's Flowers # 7

My friend Luiz Santilli Jr. has started a Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. You can get in on the start. Sunday at 7GMT is the post time.

Today I would like to share not a wild flower but one that is cultivated. There is a field of Sunflowers right next to the farmers field of wheat. If you click on the photo you can see a scarecrow in the field to the right back.
Going in closer you can see the row upon row of full Sunflower heads.
The Sunflowers were quite beautiful in golden yellow.
This on had a worker on the edge getting some nectar and pollinating the plant.
I went in for a macro and the bee was really busy. This farmer will have a lot of seeds to sell.

Really quite nice. I have seen whole fields of sunflowers around here instead of corn and soybeans. I have mine posted on Canon Pixels.

The bee really illustrates the size of the flower. I liked the way you zoomed in!

I love sunflower fields. Thanks. Our farmers didn't plant any this year that I've seen. Pappy

Beautiful, beautiful. Sunflowers are the most gorgeous "feel good" flowers I know. They always make me smile. A field full of them? Wow.

Mine is up too.

I love that shot of them all, like obedient children, facing the sun. It looks like they are waiting for instruction.

I LOVE sunflowers. These are wonderful shots. I truly believe you are so lucky to be close enough to see these things regularly! (OK, I'm lucky in a lot of ways, too, but I LOVE sunflowers.)

And I'm a volunteer art teacher at my daughter's school. The lower grades drew and painted scarecrows the last two weeks. I had to find scarecrows wherever I could, so I am tuned into them now. Thanks for pointing it out!

I adore sunflowers! As I drove cross-country to move to Washington a few years ago (having since moved back to the East Coast), I saw fields upon fields of sunflowers. I couldn't get enough!!!

Wonderful photographs, especially when enlarged. That must be the hardest working scarecrow around. All alone in that sea of sunflowers.

Beautiful sunflowers. It seems like almost every flower shot has some kind of insect on it, whether it's a bee, an ant or fly.
