What Is It - Final

What Is It Answer - The idea of a tree wasn't so bad but it is actually a knot in a plank from a walkway at Brandywine Falls. I used the macro lens to shoot straight down thru the hole. It was made from real Womanized Wood so it is treated but the knot has popped out. If you look closely you can see the knot in the third board from the bottom.
This is a view of the walkway from the other side of the gorge. You can see the lower viewing platform.
I'm sharing the story of the falls that was posted along the walkway. You can click on it to read it.
Here are some of the layers of rock that the description of the falls talks.
This is another shot of the falls with the lower walkway shown just before I went down to capture the falls.
Sorry it was too tricky, the macro on my camera does a nice job on close-ups.

Fishing Guy, are you Watching Dancing With The Stars to see that cute blond country singer compete with her boyfriend in the dance contest? They make such an adorable couple. Hope they marry soon. Joann
P.S. You should have labeled your blog THE HOLE IN THE WALL GANG!

So I was ALMOST right. LOL!! I am getting to sound like Craig now. LOL!! Stunning shots here Tom. The wood around the hole reminds me of the outline of a spider. :)

I must be blind - lol! Really enjoyed the fall photos - that observation deck looks very close to it - almost too close!

Oh My---I never would have figured that one out. It looked SO big... I was ready to climb into that cave... HA HA HA.... Great post, Tom!!!!

In my post today, the 2nd picture (purple crocus) was taken using the macro.. It looks BIG in the picture but really is a tiny little crocus. Quite deceiving, huh?

The walkway does go very close to the falls, doesn't it??? BEAUTIFUL. We want to see it!!!

Have a great day.

What a coincidence to read about Brandywine Falls on your blog. The Brandywine Harp Orchestra is coming to the Edinburgh Harp Festival at Easter, but they're from Delaware, and I see that your Brandywine is in Ohio. Is it a common river name in the US?

A beautiful falls area!

Who would have thought? I am with Betsy about the cave, except I was standing to the side afraid of what was going to come out.
