My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 2 GMT is the post time.
The beauty of this Pink Dahlia was past but the bees were still interested in the flower.
The Bumblebee in the center was accompanied by a Metallic Green Bee.

that's beautiful with the bee..
Too cool, you sure have a way with a camera fishing guy. They fly off on me I can't catch them...
That is a beauty Tom and I do love the bugs. :)
So you glad you said the dahlias were brown now. I was looking out my window wondering how you could still have flowers. :)
I like the mottled color of the bloom at this stage and the bees are a added attraction.
Nicely captured.
WOW ... critters AND flowers in your lovely macro photos ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
WOW! Just beautiful!
That's the beauty of photography. It's recorded and we can enjoy it any time we like.
Doesn't smell as pretty though. tee hee

Sigh, such beauties. All the birds are great, too. Such variety.
You got some great shots of the bees on the dhalia. The detail on the bees is amazing.

Great capture on the bees, they thought the dahlia was still tasty.
I have a few flowers left but soon will be reaching into my files as well.

It is nice to have beautiful shots to look at, when the winter comes! And what a funny little bee, I have never seen the little green bee before!
Nice shots of both the fading dahlia and the bees!
Flower Power Tom.
"Dahlias are one of those garden delights that have soft and delicate petals yet beautifully layered by nature and arrayed with multiple colours to attract helpful visitors such as bees who are free to please themselves."~@lcd, 26 Oct 2009

Busy to the last moment..you gotta love the working ethic of a bee even tho frost and killer cold weather will stop its need to do.
Great shots and I love your ducky header shot! Great capture!!!
I think you need to show larger views of your gardens..you have so much beauty in them...love the bees!
those are gorgeous shots and nice macro views of the bees.
This is a good time of year to shoot the bees as they are a little sluggish.
Nothing but the memories, now.

Hi Tom it seems the insects are trying to squeeze the last bit of pollen out they can before winter nice shots !!
Gorgeous and amazing!
lovely pink dahlia, love its soft pink color.

Beautiful capture of the bees! How on earth does everybody get this right? I guess my "stalking" skills suck because everytime I get close to an insect, it flys away! Or have you also started to make little claymations like the Bug Lady (LOL - just kidding!)
Oh boy!! I clicked on that close-up of the little green bee, and WOW! --What amazing detail!! So, it looks like they have a set of large compound eyes and a set of little simple eyes. Do you know whether that's what we're looking at?
Love the bee-and amazing you got the 2 in one flower.
The shift supervisor and a trainee!

Nice bees! That green fellow is interesting for sure.
