The Whitetail Deer population is growing in my city of Kent, Ohio. The feed is enough that a doe can have up to three fawns. The family unit tends to stay together. There have been two days this month when the family visited my back yard. Here you can see the feeder being used by more then the birds. This was early in December. Click on the photos to get a better view.
This youngster was really getting up to get a mouthful of bird seed.
This was a photo from this week and you can see the deer are feeding on the grass and the feeder droppings.
They are looking really healthy for the winter to come.

Cool backyard critters. Do you have a salt lick too? Maybe you can put out some corn too.
How fun to have them in your backyard. I had to go looking for some to photograph. Great photos.
Aren't they lovely?!!! Not everyone has a backyard with deer friends! I'm sure the love the buffet! :D :D
They know no boundries. I love the photo of the duck at the top of your blog. Happy Holidays.
These are neat shots. What nosy little critters :D
Beautiful. I'll not show my hubby. He'll say they look good... to eat. LOL They are really nice deer. I would love to have them that close but at the same time I love my garden more. I don't want to be in the Deer vs. Plants predicament.
Tom,
Excellent photos of one of my favorite animals. I am glad you are enjoying your local whitetails.
Love the deer. We do not see them around home, here in My Muskoka !
Thanks for sharing them.
Very Nice and I am getting a little jealous of your sanctuary!! :-)) Merry Christmas and Have a very Blessed New Year!
They sure are smart :)
I played too :)
Just unbelievable!
I'm sure that doe appreciates that you make food available for her and her young ones. Do they come and feast on your flowers and vegatables during the rest of the year?
I love the second shot with actions!
Please come and meet our New Baby Champ. Merry Christmas!
WOW!!! Right in your backyard in Kent?!?! Tell them to stay away from the road!!!
The deer are beautiful, but I don't know about them cleaning out the bird feeders.
Blessings,Ruth
Tom, I think it's nice to have them in the backyard. I like deers. You've photographed them so well!
I'd love a scene like that in my back yard! Look at that one hiked up getting a mouthful! That's funny! Great shots, Fishing Guy!
Hello friend!
And about Santa? Have they forgotten to bring him? :)
Wonderful shots, your place is so beautiful and much more with that adorable family! :)
God bless you
Léia and little Luna
Aww so beautiful and wonderful to have them. Has your Kent seen any snow yet Tom?
Tom, you are so lucky to live way out in the wilds.
Looks like one of them actually got into the feeder, Tom... Smart deer!!!! Our deer population is increasing here also.. They are protected---so they just keep growing. AND--with houses being built on their land, they are getting less and less land to roam around in...
Did you get snow there??? We got a tiny bit during the night--but it is gone today.
Betsy
It is so nice to see these deer in your own backyard. I saw a two pronged buck this morning.
Hi Tom!
Those are really good captures of deer. The young ones are really cute and my favourite among the photos is the second one.
Good day!
Nice Catch. Love your critter. Hope you can find time to visit mine.
How fun to see these deer in your yard! I love the quizzical bird in your header too. Thanks for visiting my 'holiday critters' at Small Reflections earlier ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
Those sneaky(not) deer!
I also thought the duck on the bat box(?) was too funny and good!

Aren't you lucky to be having the wild deer in your back yard!

My goodness! This is so cool.
You must have some good nails holding that bird feeder to the shed!
Goodness! They are a hungry bunch! Have a wonderful Christmas.
You are getting quite a herd there my friend! Lovely shot, I bet you get quite a bit of enjoyment watching them.
That's what I call "BUSTED"!
