The theme this week is by Lanny is "Sanguine". Mac, Gail's Man, Lanny,Dave, Kathy and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. We now post anytime before 4 PM EDT and voting begins after that. We have a new member this week. Be sure to visit Kathy and welcome her.
This weeks theme was a challenge. First I had to figure out what Sanguine was and then how to show it. Lanny chose a color which only a women would use, way to go my friend. I started looking for that color and soon found what I thought would show it. I decide to show a sanguine colored wild crab apple tree in the neighborhood.
I went in a little closer to see the tree.
I then went in to see the berries.
Then I looked at them in the shade.
I chose the header from the close-up photos of the tree. It sure looks like small apples.
See what the others have shown from the above links.

Great photos! I think you captured Lanny's fancy color well : )
Nice one Tom, close-up are always magic to see.
Nice new header picture.
Greetings,

I thought they were cherries to start with. Not sure if they would taste good in a pie though!
Great photos! I am hoping that you got the email that I sent last night--it's about the book. I hope the email arrived because the book is ready to be published.
:-) Cindy
I thought they were cherries!
Tom! you found an awesome choice for sanguine, one of my favorite trees! and it isn't even all that girly! Sanguine, blood red, is well represented by wild crab apples, they look like large drops of blood from the tree. I love it! Crab apple jelly was one of my grandma's specialties, made from the fruit of the native Malus fusca, the one you have picture is a lovely cultivar, or the Asian version, more suitable for a neighborhood. So Tipper is right, you did capture my "fancy" color well and delighted me!
Yes, they indeed look like little apples.. :)
Ah - what lovely colours!
Awesome shots, love the shots of the rosehips berries too:)
Great photos! A color only a woman would choose, lol.
Like you, I would have had to look up "sanguine".... :)))
The trees are loaded with fruit...and until I read further, I thought they were cherries.
I enjoy being here!!!
Smiles,
Jackie
