The little pond I visit had 9 families of Canadian Geese on it last week. If you go to this link you will see them as babies.
I swung around to give you a feel of how many there were.
They came ashore and let me pretty close with no threats. Please note the top family has younger goslings because they laid their eggs later.
The older ones are at a less pretty stage and soon will be as large as their parents. My that grass is good.
I couldn't resist taking this picture of a mother preening her feathers.
The Pink Peonies are blooming. The white ones behind are not far from blooming. I stake and loosely tie the plants to keep them upright. It stormed last night so I have to see how they look today.
They have a beautiful flower.
What is a peony display without their symbiotic friend the ant crawling on them. If you have peonies, you have ants.
This were given to me by a gardener friend, Harold from the concerts, and all it takes is a piece of root and your in the flower business. Pruning is the only other thing I have to do to maintain them.

Hey that's a pretty cool shot of a mother geese preening herself :D
Aw... the foals are cute!
And yes, the goslings are getting mighty big. I visited the lake over here and they are getting big and chunky as well!
The Peonies are beautiful... the one with the ant is really a oool shot!

AND A VERY BEAUTIFUL POTPOURRI!!!
I think the goslings are still cute even if they aren't brand new anymore. It is amazing how quickly they grow up, though. Soon they will look like their parents. Nice photos!
I actually think you sparked my duck post with your photos of the Canadian Geese. I read you early this morning on my Google reader but I can't leave comment from there.

A great set of pictures... tomorrow I have some of a tree you might reconise.. Jane took all the shots. She's getting a tad bossy with the camera now when we are out... ha!
The peony photos remind me of the song, "Sweet Peony", by Bobby Gentry. I always liked that. :)
Loving the updates of these gorgeous young ones! The second foal looks like it's dancing on tippy toes.. and great shot of mother goose.
Your peonies are superb..great work :)
"Louis" will save the link to this post and show it to Mme. la Vache when she returns from her trip. She loves birds and flowers, so she will enjoy this very much.
