Camera Critters #16

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

This is my first capture of a fawn. This little one was absolutely beautiful. My constant companion in my car is my Canon PowerShot SX100 IS. I love this camera for its versatility and it does even better as I improve myself. I was driving to work on Wednesday when 4 building before my office I saw a this fawn and mother. They were in the front yard of the First Energy office building. I whipped into the next driveway, threw open the door and grabbed the camera. A car slowed down right in front of them and the mother said let's move. They moved across the parking lot and put on a show. They were very alert to their surroundings because they are city deer were very careful. The morning mist surrounded the deer but I fired away. They got comfortable and put on a show.
I was able to get a lot of choices for the blog.
It was a little foggy so the colors were brighter to the eye.
Now as Paul Harvey says "the rest of the story", I shared my capture at work and the car that stopped was Tony the shop foreman. Later that afternoon he called me outside and the mother and fawn were behind our plant. I went and got my camera and followed them in the woods. I went into the woods and I saw them move into an opening. I went to the edge of the woods and got this shot to the trees.
They moved across the opening and I went out of the woods and the fawn gave me a parting glance. Please note the color difference in the afternoon colors.
This capture was better then any deer hunt I had ever been on. The wonder of nature and critters astound me. Thank you Misty for starting Camera Critters.

AWESOME!!! I felt like I was right there with you... You really got some spectacular shots of the fawn and I really love that fourth shot (with the fawn & mother together).

I've made it my mission to get some good deer shots this Summer... I haven't had the opportunity yet though, with all the rain we've been having.

And, as far as your thanks... No, my friend, thank YOU!!!

Very beautiful shots. I am always on the look out for deer when I drive to church. It is one of my highlights of the day when I see them in the nature center that I drive past. I really need to visit and go for a walk. I need to get a small camera for the car as well. I don't like to drag the big camera everywhere that I go. Thanks for stopping by and visiting my blog. Your comment is appreciated.

I have yet to see a fawn this year.. I'm so jealous! The deer seem to be out a lot this year more than others (the cooler MN summer?), but still no fawns for me to see :( They are all hiding.. yeah! thats it!

So beautiful...
We were driving down a back road last evening, and saw a mother and twins at the edge of a corn field... No matter how many times I see deer, I never get over their beauty and grace...

Have a great day!

Amazing fawn shots. I saw one alongside the road a few days ago and tried to get a shot from the car. Unfortunately the rear view mirror is visible.

Fishing Guy,
I'm so glad you had that wonderful opportunity. I have a lot of "favorite" subjects, but fawns have to rank near the top. There is something so beautiful and innocent about them.

What a wonderful series of deer hunt!
Just always carry a camera. There's always something out there to shoot!

What wonderful photos. Such beauty.

Nice hunt you “captured” here!

I find photographing wildlife even more rewarding than traditional hunting and I notice from your words that you are beginning to feel the same way. Observing wildlife up close and interacting with it is over a period of time is something that the hunter misses.

Keep up the good work and always keep that little Power-Shot handy.
