Sky Watch Friday now has a new home and a life of it's own. Please check out the new sight and link in if you wish to participate. There were 378 people last week with beautiful Sky photos. You can link in from my side bar or above.
The family made a trip to central Ohio to go on a canoeing trip down a river. Most of the family went down in two cars. It was a fun trip with some great scenery. There were 7 adults and 6 kids on two rafts and a canoe. The country is really nice in central Ohio. There was a set of silos that I thought gave a fun sky shot.
As you go south in Ohio you start to get closer to the Appalachian Mountains and you get into the foothills with the rolling countryside.
If you put your camera in a plastic bag on the raft while you are going down the river you can get this kind of sky shot. Yes, we did get really wet. I don't recommend this method but the camera dried out and so did I.

Greetings from
JoAnn's-D-Eyes /Holland:)
Great sky watch. I really like the silos against the sky.
We used to live in the Texas Panhandle on the High Plains. There was always a lot of wind and if you passed some silos near the highway, "be careful", the swirling winds would take you off the road, or into an oncoming car.
Great photos, and thanks for the visit,
Troy
Yesterday was a storybook, today is a family album! Nice series, and I especially love the shot through the plastic bag!
I've used the plastic bag strategy before! I love the fair weather cumulus sky in the others... green green, blue blues and white whites... it's like a laundry detergent commercial. :O)
Ha! I see you posted early too.
Great sky watch and congrats on being featured. Okay. I know I'm a little late with that, but still... congrats!
Nice presentation of your shots.
Perfect shots for Skywatch! Great job! Mine's up too hope youcan drop by... asking for your vote too... thanks a lot! Happy weekend!
All very lovely postcards:)
Beautiful. You know how to live and enjoy yourself.
Great photos and I like the way you have cropped them.
Beautiful photos - I actually like the last one best. The silos are interesting.

Those are all beautiful shots. Sounds like a great time on the family trip.
Very nice sky watch :)
Great SWF photos!!
Sounds like you had a lot of fun. :) Great photos of a summer sky. I love the silos especially.
These are all very nice. I like the way you have matted them.
See my SkyWatch post here > Canon Pixels
Great photos, but I think I will leave my camera in the truck and not take a chance in the plastic bag, LOL.
Great shots Fishing Guy, love the misty one.
Beautiful country and skies!
You are very courageous, taking the camera with you onto the water. I went sailing recently and left my camera in the locker.
Wonderful set of skywatching shots.
FG
This is a really superb post. I love the way you have framed the shots.BTW,I think you did a grand job last week with the intro, can't quite remember if I sent you a message but if I didn't my apologies.
Lovely series of photos, Fishing Guy, and I just love how you've put them into an oval vignette format! Very nice Sky Watch!
How cute, camera in a bag!! Die hard photographer hahahaha
Thanks for your visit to my blog and the advice. Your idea is really priceless to put a camera in a plastic bag and use it this way.
Oh my goodness! I'm glad your camera is OK. ;-) Ohio really is lovely, isn't it?
Who's got a new photo program? I like those little oval frames. Pappy
Great Sky Watch photos - such beauitful colours captured too!
An excellent sequence.
Great shots for sky watch, FG!
Looks like a nice trip.
Hi Fishing Guy,
I'm glad your camera dried out! what a fun family trip...down a river, in a canoe or raft. Fabulous scenery...
Love the framing! Your dog is gorgeous!
These are so interesting and it is a lovely landscape; how many miles did you canoe? Does the river run fairly swiftly?
wonderful pictures!i love the colors!great shots
Nice one, Tom. Has my cam getting wet recently, too. But all went well. :)
Cheers, Klaus
P.S.: Hope you get back to normal image shows. The nice the ovals are - a full frame is always nicer! :)
I like the silo one, and the last one. It is an interesting shot and you wouldn't have had it otherwise, so well worth the effort.
Looks like a nice trip! And you took very nice shots. They are all very nice:)
Have a nice Sky Watch:)
Wow!!!! This is an amazing post! I love the travels that you took us on and I enjoyed the tip of what a photo will look like when covered in a plastic bag!! How Stunning and what a great idea! Well done...
The third one looks like a Painting, it's So beautiful!!
I like your sky shots!
Gee..all our family has is a barbeque. Obviously, we are under achievers in reunions. @:}

very cool presentation. Love the silos and oohh your poor camera. Glad it's okay.
These are just lovely and I like the way the photos are presented! I love the silos photos---I tend to like silo photos. Happy SWF!
Lovely! SWF!!
Neat stuff, I like the plastic baggie shot the best! It makes me giggle.
Not only beautiful images biy so imaginatively framed.
Your first shot is gorgeous in my opinion...looks like a nice place to live.
Central Ohio looks like a nice place to go!
Pretty neat photos... interesting way of matting the photos... makes it so much more fun that way.... you did a fabulous Sky Watch this week!
I think if I were rafting, I would have lost the camera trying to stay in the raft and not managed one picture at all! I am impressed that you managed a sky shot and only got wet in the process! lol Nice presentation of your photos too.
My Sky Watch Photos are posted Here and Here
What a devotee! great idea and nice shots too.
Nice pictures. You were brave to take your camera on the raft. Glad all is well. Sounds like a nice vacation with family.
Looks like a fun trip, and definitely fun photos.
Sounds like an exciting trip. Love the photos! Good music!
Love how you captured them in a beautiful frame
nice series of pictures for swf
Wonderful SkyWatch shots! I especially like the silos, we have lots of grain bins around here that break up the skyline.
I'll have to try that camera in a plastic bag trip. Sounds like you had fun; great photos.
Nice series FG!
I only have one camera so putting it in a plastic bag would not be an option I'd be comfortable with!
Great job FG....I really like the one with the silos..
Hey Fishing Guy,
You did a great job last week. I like your oval framing for your gorgeous photos. I'm definitely going to try that. Have a great weekend.
Awesome series of photos. Happy SWF.
Wonderful views. I like a lot the last one, so shaded.
Happy Sky Watch!
another lovely set fit for swv. have a great weekend FG.
Lovely cloud shots. I like the last one, it looks like there is a heavy mist over the water.
Beautiful shots!!
But you mean to say the camera didn't go bad?!
That top shot is almost like a constable. Great SWF! Thanks for stopping by Photonic Harmony Mr Fishing Guy, all the best, Andy.
Love how you have "shaped" each of these images! Almost like a cameo glimpse of life! Beautiful!
Great SW pictures!
Very pretty!!!
Great reminder of that trip--I see a lot of silos here in MN and they always are the best photos I bring home. Sounds like your road trip was wonderful--thanks for sharing it with us.
Happy Weekend!
Great once again do you ever take a bad picture? I like how the last picture turned out.

very interesting shots i like the way you portrayed them! Great swf!
Love them - and something interesting happens with your lovely oval crops - I get a sort of convex optical illusion.
Your shots are very interesting. I love how you frame them.
Just gorgeous... The first one is my favorite!
Thanks for visiting Prairie Visions!
lovely set of photos! you had a good idea of wrapping the camera not to get wet instead of buying a waterproof camera case! :D
Nice shots. The plastic bag thing had me laughing...
I love this series of photos. And I actually really like that last one in the plastic bag.
Great shots and posting. I am thinking about taking a raft ride down our local rivers here in Oregon. I think I will take my less expensive camera and some baggies.
Beautiful sky and country. Love the silos.
Beautiful pictures of landscape and sky. The first reminds me of Norway. Like it a lot ;-)
It looks like it was a nice day. I like your shot from inside the plastic bag. Cool.
Thanks for stopping by.
Happy SWF..
cool skf!
Hmm,thanks about the tip for putting the camera in a plastic bag...Now you get great sky fotos as always! Happy weekend!
I love the stylistic approach on these photos. The silos against the sky are definitely my favorite of the bunch, but they're all very nice!
I really like the way you've presented these .. they are just wonderful .. and the 'framing' makes them IMO even more so
:-Daryl
Very nice SWF photos!
I love the special effects!
Great series of shots! The silos are very cool. I would never have the nerve to take my camera on a raft.
Wow, you are a popular man!!99 comments and counting! Glad your camera didn't get ruined. and it sounds like a blast to me.
Sound like going down the river would be a great outing.
Your last picture would look great hanging it so quite looking.

Love the first one-looks like a postcard of a place I'd want to visit!

Fishing Guy this is something else. Who but you would think of putting a camera in a plastic bag for a photo shoot. How very creative. What's that line: where there is the will there is a way to do it. Rock on!
Love it. The frames make them look like postcards.
Beautiful skywatch photos! I like the last shot, too. It looks as though the fog rolled in!
Thank you for commenting on my SWF. You are right, my cloud does look like an igloo with the entryway!
