Camera Critters #33

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

I was out driving on a cold snowy day and there was a tree directly in front of me as I came to a tee in the road. I set my car in position to get a few shots of the tree.
There were two black squirrels in the Crab-apple Tree.
There was one that was a little lighter then the other.
This is the really a black colored Black Squirrel.
He was eating the little apples and working hard to get satisfied for the day.
The thing I hadn't realized is that there was a Grey Squirrel further up the tree.
The next day during a snow storm there was one of the Black Squirrels back in the tree. I was able to get my car in a better position and was able to get some neat photos.
He was busy working on the little apples so he didn't mind. You can see all the snow on it's back.
I hope you enjoyed the trip with my area squirrels, now go visit some of the other neat places showing their critters.

Love your last photo. Where in Ohio are you that you're getting that much snow already?!? Lake-effect snows? We've had one spit, and I do mean spit, so far.

(Did you see those two photos Mary (Faith, Fabric & Photos) took of the birds with one perfect snowflake on each of them? They're really surprising!)

Some people think the common animals (ie squirrels) don't deserve posting. I am not one of those people. I actually need to post some myself. I don't have them at my house, but too photos in Fla.

I don't think I've seen black squirrels, although I did see a white squirrel in Brevard, NC. I liked the snow on their backs.

An excellent post on the squirrels and on sky watch. I have yet to photograph a black squirrel. I enjoyed your photos very much.

I've just started to clue into these meme posts. I really like the concept, its a great way to connect with other blogs that may have the same interest or focus area, and to connect the dots to a larger whole.

Tom- I still am surprised every time I see a black squirrel picture on your blog and I'm not sure why. I grew up with these guys- but we just don't have in Columbus, so I probably haven't seen a "really black" squirrel in a long time. Thanks for sharing, these guys really remind me of my childhood.

Oh my gosh that is a great set of photos you captured, lucky you to have found such a great display of squirrels that were even being so cooperative in letting you photo them.
I don't get to see squirrels very often so i love this.

There's no Mr Linky on Camera Critters today, so I can't get to any of the blog links. Do you know what's going on?

Anyway, black squirrels - I can't believe it - I'd never seen or heard of one until I started blogging. Now I've seen several!

Okay, I need glasses. At first glance I thought those were monkeys. :-) I so rarely see a black squirrel and only in a photo.

I really like the closeup of the Black Squirrel. We only have he Gray and Red here in my area but I see Black ones whenever I go visiting in Quebec.

A nice critter your camera caught.
