I was out driving on a cold snowy day and there was a tree directly in front of me as I came to a tee in the road. I set my car in position to get a few shots of the tree.
There were two black squirrels in the Crab-apple Tree.
There was one that was a little lighter then the other.
This is the really a black colored Black Squirrel.
He was eating the little apples and working hard to get satisfied for the day.

Take care and thanks for sharing
One of my favorite things to do is watch a tree full of squirrels!
Great photos! I only ever manage to see one squirrel at a time :)
Beautiful little guys :)
We don't have black squirrells in Norway.
Great photos!
Love your last photo. Where in Ohio are you that you're getting that much snow already?!? Lake-effect snows? We've had one spit, and I do mean spit, so far.
(Did you see those two photos Mary (Faith, Fabric & Photos) took of the birds with one perfect snowflake on each of them? They're really surprising!)
Some people think the common animals (ie squirrels) don't deserve posting. I am not one of those people. I actually need to post some myself. I don't have them at my house, but too photos in Fla.
I have never seen a black squirrel in the flesh. Cheeky and cute. Mine's up too, whatever mr linky says.
Whoa... I love it!! Look at those fantastic squirrel photos.. I just can never get decent photos of squirrels!! You are the master! =)
~Michele~
Nice shots of these squirrels gorging themselves! We get the black and grey squirrels too.
aww! so cute!
I really, really like those squirrels! I may sneak over to Kent, Ohio and capture a couple to bring home one of these days! Keep posting lots of pictures of them!
Love the photos of the black squirrels, could care less about the grey ones.......that's all we have and a lot of them.
I don't think I've seen black squirrels, although I did see a white squirrel in Brevard, NC. I liked the snow on their backs.
An excellent post on the squirrels and on sky watch. I have yet to photograph a black squirrel. I enjoyed your photos very much.
Icicles: I would love to see the ice sculptures on your house. Wait until you see our store bought snow!
FG, I've never seen a black squirrel I don't think. Ours here in Tennessee are just the old' gray ones!!!! Great pictures. Thanks!
What can I say, fg! Good post. Fun to see those guys up close. A tree full of squirrels is a great find..usually they will entertain you for a while..esp, if there is food!
Thanks~
Cute...I haven't seen any black squirrels here..just the gray...

Ah, capturing the elusive black squirrel!
Nice shots FG!
I'd sure like to see one of those little guys.
I've just started to clue into these meme posts. I really like the concept, its a great way to connect with other blogs that may have the same interest or focus area, and to connect the dots to a larger whole.
Great critters!
Tom- I still am surprised every time I see a black squirrel picture on your blog and I'm not sure why. I grew up with these guys- but we just don't have in Columbus, so I probably haven't seen a "really black" squirrel in a long time. Thanks for sharing, these guys really remind me of my childhood.
Tom
Yes I like it, they are beautiful, great shots
nice pictures of the squirrels. I like how you caught them ion the colorful tree.
AH! Your black squirrels are just as pretty and cute as the ones In East Gwillimbury! Nice photos, FG!
Oh my gosh that is a great set of photos you captured, lucky you to have found such a great display of squirrels that were even being so cooperative in letting you photo them.
I don't get to see squirrels very often so i love this.
There's no Mr Linky on Camera Critters today, so I can't get to any of the blog links. Do you know what's going on?
Anyway, black squirrels - I can't believe it - I'd never seen or heard of one until I started blogging. Now I've seen several!
Okay, I need glasses. At first glance I thought those were monkeys. :-) I so rarely see a black squirrel and only in a photo.
FG: They are cute little critters. The are fun to watch. Lisa
I really like the closeup of the Black Squirrel. We only have he Gray and Red here in my area but I see Black ones whenever I go visiting in Quebec.
A nice critter your camera caught.
Great photos, lovely squirrels, so many. Are you sure you haven't put them there! It is good fun to watch them, thanks for sharing this spectacle of bushy tails.
Amazing how the black squirrels show up so well. Neat pics!
