Sometimes you get the feeling something special is going to happen. I had a friendly sky as I drove home last Friday and as the Sun began to set you could feel that something was going to happen with that low cloud and the Western sky.
This all took place in 5 minutes and I tried to take a shot each minute as the Sun sank toward the horizon. I thought this hook cloud was so interesting, maybe a fisherman's promise.
The hook was burnt out but the sky was ablaze.
I was enjoying the show as I went down a hill into valley.
The bottom of the hill was reached and a flock of crows filled the sky. You could hear the crows talking and saying to each other let's head for a roost before dark comes creeping across the sky.
Just that quick the sun was gone and the darkness started to envelope the sky. That was the end of the photos but it was an exciting time as I had traveled through the beauty of the sunset. This is five minutes later and the darkness came soon behind.
The beauty of the sunset can readily be seen
it will be with us only for a shot time, not long.
I hope that it is always a show which is truly keen
so watch it with your heart filled with a song.
Travel around the net and see the other beautiful skies of the world.

How does something so big and hot move so fast, (to us), just gorgeous photos, love the second one.
Late fall sunsets are beautiful but a little more solemn and somber in my opinion. Thanks for mentioning me on your blog today. I'll be getting back to you soon as I can. Maybe tomorrow.
Fabulous Photos, FG... I liked your story/description that went with the pictures. I could feel your excitement watching the sun go down in the west. Beautiful Colors!!!! Thanks!

Wonderful sequence. Yes, you have to capture sunset, or sunrise for that matter, photos when you see them. Great captures, today.

Astonishing set of shots!
It's true that we should enjoy the beautiful skies to the fullest because they are so fleeting. Your sky was beautiful, and doesn't it make you feel God put it there just for you. :-)
So warmly coloured and summer like photos, they make happy feeling.
Our world is now quite white and the sky has been grey weeks. But we all love that new glimmering snow, which will last increasing step y step until March.
In April we will not love it any more:)
Happy weekend to you!
Thanks to share with us each minute of that glorious moment. That was a soft melody from heart.
I've listened, watched attentively, and feel.

fishing guy, thank you it has worked.
Stunning. Thank you for sharing!
Fishing Guy, first thanks for giving me this award. I'm so grateful. Now, I have a favor to ask. I need help getting my award from your blog to my blog. This summer Old Lady Lincoln gave me an award and I didn't know how to pick it up. Jack and daugters were busy so I missed out on that award. This time I'm determined to pick it up if I can get a little instruction on how to do so. Sorry I'm such an untechie person. LOL. Joann
Yes, WOW!!! Yet again, you've captured another beautiful sky! Keep them coming - I love your photos!!!

Your sunrise photos are stunning! You were a lucky guy to be able to see that. :)
Gorgeous series. I love the crispness of the blue in the first shot. All are stunning. BJ
Great sequence of shots and a beautiful palette of colours.
Clouds are the unsung hero of any memorable sunset ... but the sun gets all the credit.
Some of the most beautiful photos I've seen.
I know what you mean about something special about to happen. And if you're not in exactly the right place at the right time....it's gone! I missed that sky two nights ago, but have caught it other times and will again, I hope. Guess the best thing to live by is NEVER be without your camera!
Love your blog, FG!
