Snow, Snow, Go Away

I woke up this morning to 8" of snow on my car and truck. The driveway was well covered and I shoveled it off. It was still dark when I was ready to go to work but managed this shot of my house. I saw this Cardinal sitting out and enjoying the weather. It looks like a healthy bird.
I was able to capture the little bush in front of the house at noon.
Check out what I thought was an appropriate photo of a Christmas Tree Farm with the trees decorated on white.
The bench at work was well covered with snow.
The Canadian Geese seem to be bedded in for the night.
The Mallard Ducks and Canadian Geese seem to be enjoying a swim in the middle of a snow storm before bedding down.
We are supposed to get three more inches tonight with no end in sight. As I said to a friend today, it looks like we are heading for a White Thanksgiving. Wait a minute, that certainly doesn't sound right.

It's winter here as well but it's normal for this area. I was thinking... snow for Thanksgiving??? Huh? Ohhh.... I forgot the American Thanksgiving... we celebrated ours last month! I feel like it's Christmas time already when you still have another holiday yet in there!!
That's a lot of Turkey in a short time before Christmas. Or do you have a ham for your Thanksgiving?
Enjoy the snow and keep warm! =)

Yes, it is starting early this year.
The saying is...
If it comes in like a lion, it'll go out like a lamb.
We'll see.
Great snowy pictures, FG!!

Oh I am SO jealous!!!! I am a southern girl who LOVES snow.. My hubby was raised in northern Indiana---and had his share growing up. SO--he prefers NO snow... Beautiful pictures!!!!

Shoveling already! One of the perks of living down wind from the great lakes. a few of those flakes blew all the way here - none on the ground to shovel though.

Oh gosh you guys are getting hit early arn't you? We are suppose to get snow in the mountains by the end of the week, at least that is what Mt Bachelor is praying for so they can open by Thanksgiving weekend.

Tom- I miss and don't miss the Lake Erie snow machine now that I live here in Columbus. We received a dusting of snow- and it has been way too cold. But nothing like you received!

Wow...8" already and it isn't even Thanksgiving. I hope we don't get any until January. Great shots of the geese in the field...I've never seen them sitting in the snow! Cardinals are the cheerful spot of winter, for sure. I would love to get a photo when there are a dozen deocrating my little tree, but they spook so easily and I can't shoot from far enough away inside.

Lovely! Oh, how I miss the snow!

Living in southern Georgia.... the chances of seeing that kind of snow is pretty rare.

Beautiful pics but they send a chill this way. Just a few dusting here in Minn. so far. Cold and windy though.

Stunning little bird, FG. Snow makes such a good background for photography. Gone are the days when we got snow here in England! if we get any it lasts just for a day or two. I used to enjoy a winter wonderland at Xmas, it was all very dickensian.

Wow! That's a lot of snow. But you are in northeast Ohio where you get that Lake Eire snow effect---something like Buffalo, NY.
My closest friends from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio were all from the Cleveland area: Euclid, Parma, Willoughby, etc. I was always thankful that my folks lived in southwest Ohio where you get a lot less snow. I remember one year my Miami roomie never made it home for Thanksgiving. She was stuck in a snowdrift somewhere on a bus and wearing the same skirt and sweater all weekend! LOL!

Your cardinal looks pretty.
Don't get stuck in a snow drift. Take care.
