Triangle Lake Part 2 of 2

The remainder of the trip to Triangle Lake and a check for the fauna of the bog. This tree told me to look for woodpeckers. I was able to capture this woodpecker through an opening in the trees.
I think it may be a Flicker but not real sure.
This is a Red Bellied Woodpecker that I showed before.
I saw a huge dragonfly on the lake maybe 4" to 5" but it kept moving. I did capture this one dragonfly with the white body.
I zoomed in close to help with the identity. It is the White Faced Dragonfly. Look below those green eyes.
The bees were on the Button Plant.
This has to be the largest fly I ever saw. I'm not sure what it is but the wings are excellent. Abe told me it is a Progressive Bee Fly.
I captured this beautiful Comma Butterfly. This is my second one this year.
It was amazing the transformation when it closed it's wings.
It came down to the walkway and showed of its colors.
It looked like a dead leaf when folded up and I'm sure this is a great camouflage.
The final capture fauna capture was FG on the bench trying to get a picture. I was the only person at the bog on the 2 days I went there. The road in/out is only one lane paved so be sure no-one is coming toward you. Two trips to the lake and a great sighting of a big dragonfly but no photo. It is a fun place to visit.

Some more great shots from the lake Fishing Guy.
Love the blue-eyed dragonfly and that black fly is a menacing looking fellow.

I have to tell you that even though I loved every single one of those pictures of the winged beasts... my very most favorite shot was the last one with you in your hat... well, the shadow you. Loved it.

Beautiful shots!

My favorite is the self-portrait. Thanks for taking us along on your trip.

The one you didn't know about is a Progressive Bee Fly and it is the one I tried to get a good picture of. I did, but don't know where to show it. They are wild-looking up close.

You did a great job taking these photographs. Those woodpeckers who made those holes must only get paid the minimum wage, or just learners, as their holes are not perfectly round and smooth. LOL

It amazes me what I can find to take a picture of when I just sit in one spot and watch. I like the last picture "Indiana Jones".

Great butterfly pics. The one bug that you said you didn't know the name of, I see them around here a lot. They like to roost on my hummingbird feeders. Sorry, but I don't know what they are either!

Wonderful photos!! I really liked that huge dragonfly! What amazing eyes on that critter. Wow.
That "leaf butterfly" is great. I don't think I've seen that one around here or at least I don't think so because for I know, he might have been just mistaken for a leaf floating in the wind! LOL

I've always wondered why some butterflies are named after punctuation. And the dragonfly you got was worth it. The green eyes are spectacular.

Like the dragonfly's green eyes and your shadow is pretty neat too!

The green eyes are great! The Comma butterfly reminds me of a single photo post I have titled "Butterfly or Moth". Never did see it again after taking that photo, so don't even know what it looked like with its wings spread. I especially like the large fly, the wings are great!
