Sky Watch Friday #20

I would like to wish all my American visitors and friends a Happy Thanksgiving.

Sky Watch Friday has on it's own site. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were 346 people last week with beautiful Sky photos. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post.

This week has been dark and dreary so I take you back to directly after the World Series of Baseball in Philadelphia and the MetLife Blimp was coming back to Akron, Ohio along Interstate 80 through Pennsylvania and Ohio. The MetLife Blimp is a neat site in the sky. I spotted it as I came up Interstate 60 in Pennsylvania.
I got almost right under it as it crossed the interstate highway.
We traveled along Interstate 80 through Pennsylvania and Ohio for a while.
To keep my skies interesting with another flying sight I will show you a small airplane flying over my house. We are not far from the Kent State Airport.
This was a flock of geese at a small pond when a group of them took to the wing

They had just taken off so they were quite unorganized.
That's my sky show for the day so go out and see some other great skies from around the world.

My favourite has to be the geese over the lake, the second from last. Gorgeous!

We don't get blimps here, and we only get planes and helicopters when someone's lost in the mountains, so I loved your 'airshow' this week! Happy Thanksgiving and Happy SWF, too.

Blue skies from you today, huh? Beautiful!
And happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

I no longer see the organised or unorganised geese, but yours made me smile. Thanks for sharing.

I wish I could fly too! I sometime dream that I am and the feeling is great!

So nice to see "identified flying objects" in nice clear skies. The skies this week around here have been most uninspiring. Happy Thanksgiving to you and happy SWF.

I think I've never seen a blimp on Sky Watch since I participate. On the other hand, I don't visit the 300 and so blogs each week!

But I prefer nevertheless, the geeses. They seem to fly well-ordered, like a squadron.

What great shots! and all kinds of flying things! What fun! Thanks, FG!

Great set of shots as always, FG.

Very nice series of photos. For some reason, the one of the blimp really makes me smile; don't ask me why. Are blimps inherently funny?? All I can think is: So, what's up! Hmmm, I'm not explaining this very well...

Oh boy have I ever been on that interstate? Only hundreds of times with my husband in his rig.

As always I enjoy my visit here so much and they are all great photos.

But, as a country girl I have to say that my favorites are the pond and the geese.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Oh my you should even be done with your evening snack of left overs by now.

That's my favorite part of thanksgiving....the snacking later in the day.

So did you fish or watch football?

Happy SWF:-)

I like how you showed man made flying machines as well as those born to fly with their own wings. Happy Thanksgiving.

Hey FG, Wow---you saw all kinds of things in the sky, didn't you????? I love blimps.. Their sound is so unique. I used to see them when I lived in Texas. Remember when the Goodyear Blimp was the ONLY one???? Times ---they are a-changin'!!!! Hope you all had a great day!!! Did you eat too much?????

How can geese get unorganised? Thought they always fell into line? Maybe they were having an off day?

Great collection of photos for sky watch friday, thanks for sharing your view of the horizon.

F.G. In answer to your mallard question. Their heads are bottle green, but it depends on the light direction, the feathers shimmer in different light.
