I was driving to work last Friday and it was dark and cloudy starting out for the first hour. Then the sun started to rise and the sky exploded. This all took place in fifteen minutes.
The darkness was replaced by a wondrous site.
The sky kept changing as I drove.
I had to obliged and tried to catch a shot every couple of minutes.
It kept showing different phases as the Sun rose.
I felt like I was being treated to a marvelous sky show.
It all started to calm down and the colors all mellowed. Something started to change, a little spooky don't you think.

You whole sky show was also for us - this is absolutely fantastic. What an amazing progression! And I do see the Halloween Ghost. Very well captured.
FG: I can't add anything that you haven't already said. Except these are spectacular. Thank you. Lisa
From the fact that you've made this post, I know you made the drive to work safe and sound! Taking photos while driving....now who would DO that? (Well, aside from you and me!)
What a glorious sky you captured! A perfect SWF.
Each photo more beautiful than the last!
Perfect shots for this round of skywatch. Thanks for sharing!

I enjoy a lot these skies! This is a splendid Sky Watch!
Wow! And to think you arranged this all for us Sky Watchers!
Great series of photographs. Those moments pass very quickly in the morning. Seems that the evening shots don't change so quickly.
The colors are fantastic. I like the black squirrel on a previous post, but I have to say I am not much of a bug person.
Beautiful sky shots!
Such a beautiful sky -- you're so lucky to see dawns like this! Thank you for sharing the photos, they're wonderful.
And the sky sure did explode, FG! What a GREAT catch!
What a show Mother Nature put on for you as you drove (and took pictures?) to work!! Absolutely beautiful scenes, each one stunning in its own way! What a way to start your day...and thanks for sharing with us!
Hope you have a good week and none of that cold white stuff makes another appearance. I think I jinx myself on that one, b/c the post before was called "right around the corner"...speaking of wind and snow!1 lol.
Perfect for SWF. Great colors. These shot makes me happy. Thank you
Lovely sky photos as always. Really excellent. Thanks for showing them.

What amazes me here is not how quickly it all changed--I've photographed enough sunrises and sunsets to realize that--but the clouds themselves are so different in each phase of the sunrise. Really spectacular captures and terrific post!
What a sky gift you received.
I had no idea it was leading up to a ghost! :)
It feels as if the sky has compensated you with this fabulous display after a long day at work.
Amazing sky show with all such beautiful photos. At first, I thought it's sunset time.
Have a great weekend.
Great to watch this sunrise, thanks for sharing this.
Awesome! You got the same kind of clouds as dewdrop did! Fantastic!
Cheers, Klaus
Did that wee ghostie in the sky scare the living daylights out ot you?
