Today's Flowers #10

My friend Luiz Santilli Jr. has started a Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. You can get in on the start. Sunday at 7GMT is the post time.

This is the Rose of Sharon bushes (Hibiscus Syriacus) that grow in my brothers yard. The bushes are filled with many blooms.
You can see the beauty of the flower from this plant.
He has a row of plants lining his driveway.
This is the other bloom and seems to be a double flower.
This is truely the one I enjoy with the patterened center.

I'm guessing Fishing Guy that you took this sometime earlier. Mine are all gone and the leaves have almost all fallen.
Lining his driveway is a great idea - gives a little privacy.
Your closeup of the center is lovely!

They are such grateful plants, rewarding one for giving them living space by flowering all year round.

I love that last one too, although they are all pretty.
Sorry I'm late for other memes - on my way to them now!

Gorgeous photos! I had some beautiful roses planted over my beloved Adonis' graves, but the scummy neighbors stole them. :( What kind of dirt steals not only from a neighbor, but from a grave?

I like the last photograph the best too. When the doubles are at the peak of freshness they are the prettiest.

Your brother has a great row of rose of sharon! I have a little rose of sharon "volunteer" in my backyard that I treasure.

All so pretty and that last one is definitely my favorite! The color is outstanding... like someone dropped some dark ink in the center and it is slowly staining... awesome.

They make such a lovely hedge and they bloom so nicely. I have always wondered how they got their name. Nice photos.

I think that they are beautiful, but they attract Japanese Bettles so badly that I finally cut all of mine down....or course they keep sending up small ones all over the place anyway :-) Lovely photos of them and they come in so many pretty colors.

Beautiful. We enjoy Hibiscus down our way too. They are members of the Okra and Cotton family of plants. I'm going to need to move mine to a roomier location as they've gotten so big. Pappy

They're so abundant; I love that about these flowers. We use them for privacy behind our back deck.

I love Hibiscus. Ours are long gone now. We seemed to have them year round in Florida.

The nice thing about these bushes and flowers is that you can cut off any pencil or smaller size twig and stick it in the ground and make a new bush. And once it get roots and starts to grow, you can even make a nice tree out of them. I do but it takes about 5 years.
