2008 has come and soon will be gone. It was a New Year with many new friends. I so enjoyed my new camera and learned so much about its and my capabilities.
One of my favorite little guys are the Kent's Black Squirrels. They are always around and showing off their colors. This is in my back yard with one eating a wild fungi.
Mr. bunny also likes to visit the back yard. Can you admire that cotton tail.
This little Chipmunk allowed me to get him on our front porch.
The little foal from the stables was always putting on a fancy show.
This was a great year for deer and I got several fawn photos. I call this one "They Always Look Back".
The fawn can put on quite a show with their posing. It said "I can get that itch".
The neighborhood Praying Mantis put on a great show. This butterfly landed in the wrong place.
I don't even know how many bees I shot this year put this was always my favorite. This was on the blossom of my Buckeye Tree. Just look through those translucent wings.
If the bee and the Praying mantis meet the bee gets the worst of the meeting.
I wish all my blog friends a Happy New Year celebration and may you stay safe tonight.

Happy New Year Tom! I have enjoyed your blog during the past year and most of all I have enjoyed your friendship.
I am particularly fond of your fawn with the itch shot, the colors have punch, good sharpness and contrast and excellent composition.
Tight lines and full cards in the new year

Happy New Year to you and yours FG. What an awesome post, lots of great images. I really do like the black squirrel with the fungi the best. Blue Skies.
Well, I can't coose, for sure (but it would probably have to be either the little paint foal or the fawn scratching.) Love them. Happy New Year, Tom.
Wow..these are wonderful! I really have to come see those black squirrels! I just love them! The other animals are just as beautiful! What a bounty you had this last year! Happy New Year and look forward to more!
Super photos! Happy New Year.
Some of your best pics for sure-but I've enjoyed them all over the past year! And look forward to more!
Wonderful photos! I love that foal--you can tell it is a frisky little thing just by looking at the picture!
I came here for Skywatch, but had to comment here first. I really enjoyed looking at the pics of your critters. I like the way you framed them. That black squirrel sure is pretty, even though I have a love/hate relationship with those who share "their" property with us.
Great shots especially the Mantis in action!
If you don't mind I saved a copy of the squirrel to use as a back ground on my computer screen.
These are so beautiful. I swear your love of nature is palpable in your images.
