My World #11

This is the ninth posting for the My World meme . It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar,Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were 84 people showing their worlds to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.

A few weeks back I showed the outside of the Kent Free Library in My World #5. Several people were interested in what was inside. Here we are coming through the main front doors.
The doors open to a foyer that has several displays.
This is one of several with clocks and books that are related to clocks.
This one has glassware and related books. These displays are changed regularly.
The check out desk is handled by friendly staff. Peggy agreed to have a photo as we talk whenever I check out. The checkout can be done by computer except for requested items which I do by computer quite often from the library system.
This is an area of movies both DVD and VHS format.
The rest of the first floor are books you can borrow.
Upstairs there are special rooms which I will show a few. Here is the entrance to the children's section. It is well stocked and I take my grandchildren in to borrow books on family night.
There is a senior area to read in the quite of adults.
This is a section of CD music and a place to use the computer if you don't have on at home. There are over 30 computers to use.

I do hope you enjoyed a trip through my library and all it has to offer.

You have a much bigger library than we do! Nice to have all that available. I like the way there is a room for seniors. Our tiny library has a room for teens. Maybe some day I'll do a My World about the library...

A great place and so easy to spend lots of time there, especially in winter when I can bet it is nice and warm there as well.
A very Happy New Year to you and your family!

I enjoy a trip in any library. We should all use them to preserve them I am so glad yours is so well used. Without the library her my blog would be missing a lot of info.

Very clean place. I was one of them who hoped you would show the inside, thanks.

Looking at this reminds me I have not been inside one in ages, no thanks to internet.

Happy New Year.

Your library is HUGE! I like the idea of an area set aside for seniors - one of those pleasant rewards for getting older. ;-) How nice of Peggy to let you take her photo.

Happy New Year!

WHOA!! What an awesome library.
I love libraries but ours is small in comparison to yours... I used to spend many days in them as a young girl reading many many books!
Wonderful post!

I love libraries and books, so I love this series of photos. The childrens section looks like absolute fun for the kids. I could get lost at a place like this, lost in a few good books that is.

I love those old clocks Tom. This seems like the perfect place to take children to broaden their education. So many people have told me that their local library is hardly used anymore. What a pity!!

Fishing Guy, I enjoyed a lot this trip through your library. It' a very comfortable place, with a really nice interior design. It must be very quiet, too. I like the computer room, 30 are so many! I think one must pay a fare for one hour navigation. I'm surprised that there are still VHS: here we don't find them any more.
Happy New Year to you and your family!

Libraries are one of my favourite places to visit. I don't think I would go in the over 55 section though :-) I do dislike age segregation.

Pretty cool library. I love the books/wall to the children's section. We usually get to ours when we rent books on tape/cd for the road trips. :)

Great library and tour. Must be big, 30 computers.
Where I lived in Cave Junction, Oregon the library has been closed for over a year due to no funding.
Thanks for sharing. Good captures.

Happy New Year!
