SURPRISE

The wife and I both turn 65 in the middle of December so this surprise birthday party was without a doubt a BIG SURPRISE. I had told you earlier that my daughter had come from Mexico for Thanksgiving but that wasn't the main reason. The four children had decided that a surprise party was in order. This holiday season made it a great time to spring the surprise. I had not felt well that day but since we were going to a steak house I forced myself to go. Three blocks away from my daughters house I started to get a migraine. I popped some aspirin to try to stop it. There were a lot of cars at my daughters house but we still didn't get it. Two weeks to go and still clueless. We walked into a surprise party that was so neat. Sixty Five is a milestone, I now have a Medicare card. There were individual cupcakes for each person.
We were very happy that the kids had gone through all the effort to surprise us. We had family and friends at the party, what more could you ask.
This was the big blow with a lot of wind flying around. The wife won the race easily.
Here is my brother-in law and son. My son went to New Castle, Pa where we grew up and got Coney Island chili sauce for the hot dogs, Augustine's Thick crust pizza, Tabouli, Grape Leaves and Kibbie. All food from New Castle that we grew up eating.
The photos were taken by my granddaughter Princess and she was the only girl grandchild at the party. She probably took more photos then I would have been allowed. The four grandsons played together all night.
These are friends of 30 years that came to the party.
The two oldest daughters were the having a good time.
This is my wife's sister who came from Florida to be with us. She is where we visit last summer and I was able to get some neat photos of the Florida area.
This is my younger brother who came from PA for the evening. He is also a fisherman and golfer. We will get to get out more together after I retire.
This is one of my wives good friends who we enjoy spending time with.
This is my sister and hubby from PA, I was the only one to move away from home and after college. She was a nurse for the all her career and is retired. Her husband has his own railroad.
This is my wife's good friend from work that came to celebrate.
It was a good time with 50's music, dancing, singing, card games and eating. A perfect celebration and the kids did a great job. The grand kids didn't spill the beans over Thanksgiving even though Princess really wanted to tell.

That is quite a milestone. Now if the economy wasn’t so screwed up you could be retiring.

Fishing Guy, and Fishing Guy's Wife,

Happy, Happy Birthday Folks.

I will soon follow you down the #65
route next June and Jack will do it in 2010. Yeah, I'm older than Jack. I robbed the cradle to get him. By the way, your wife is a looker! You picked well, Fishing Guy.

P.S. I'm just about ready to return to blogging and I'll tell you my latest adventures.

Happy Birthday! - and what a wonderful celebration! Hope you forgot about your migraine when the festivities began in earnest!! It's wonderful when people remember and celebrate us (although I personally would prefer to ANTICIPATE the celebration rather than be surprised by it!)

Your granddaughter did a beautiful job, and it is WONDERFUL that your children did this for you both, from someone who has experienced migranes, I am so glad it held back so you could enjoy the party..
