My World #30

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were 125 people showing their world to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.

The true sign of spring was found this morning. A new family of Canada Geese are starting to learn about Brady Lake. I had seen some posting further south but now the goslings are in my area. Proud papa on the left is keeping guard with his head held high.
Mom was really attentive to the little ones.
The goslings are learning "Excuse me Mom, I didn't see you standing there.
The little guy on the right is so cute. It looks like they see something interesting outside the frame. This is actually a different family. I saw four families total at three different bodies of water. Michele, I hope you enjoy an early look.
If you would have asked if we ever get Great White Egrets in our area I would have had to say absolutely (NO). So why at this pond did I see three Great White Egrets this morning? I guess I'm much more observant because of blogging and photography.
Having a camera gives you a greater appreciation of nature and all of a sudden things appear to you.

You don't see Great White Egret too often - I don't have Canada Geese down here! :)
But I'm glad you got to see these guys! :)

Cheers, Klaus

I need to get out to the lake and see if I can find some to take pictures of. We just haven't had time to venture far from work or home :-(

Nice Tom- Keep an eye on that egret, it is probably migrating through, but you never know. Go up to the marshes of western lake Erie and you'll see dozens of these beautiful birds.

I will miss a lot of these new family geese times as I have other plans in the following weeks and I am sad but I am looking to you to keep me updated on the geese with your amazing photos.
Thank you so much and many hugs to you and your family.♥

It's true, I think we look harder at nature when a camera is at the ready.
Great shots of the geese and goslings!

I forgot my camera today - and just know I missed a bunch of photo-ops (ha!).

Just love the Canada goose family unit - they are so cohesive. Just wish they didn't poop so much.

That's right out of the book the ugly duckling ... although none of them looked ugly per say. And yes, that is a classic sign.

Yeah to blogging and photograghy!
Love the chick shots...so precious, we take peanut to a local tracker store to see them in the spring, but I think it is more exciting to see them in the wild. Great post, your world is so neat. :)

FG, great photos and great comment on how a camera makes you much more observant. We gave each of our daughters cameras when they were little and it helped develop their art eye. On a trip they would photograph the same scene but from two feet closer to the ground. That was interesting. I love those baby Canada geese but they sure create a stink by the ponds on our golf course. And our house has been hit with you know what on some of their flyovers from one pond to another.

Oh, these are so sweet, FG! We've got several nesting pairs at the various retaining ponds in the neighborhood. The landscaping crew has even left the grass uncut in these large areas so as not to disturb them. I've not been able to get any photos, though. Yours are just wonderful!!
