My World # 50

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive.

Mac an I are having a header challenge based on water. Check his out here.

I was out the lake for the Ravenna Thunderbirds annual water fly show. The crash in the header occurred because of a loss of a part on take-off. It is always a fun weekend and the slight ripple on the water gave some planes trouble. The owner had cut his self so was at the emergency when the plane crashed. It is a good thing I got this shot for the FAA to determine cause of the crash (just kidding). I was not in my boat but on the shore for the show. You launch the plane and then it is all radio control. If you stall the engine you have to row and get the plane.
Here is one coming in for a landing.
They were mostly gas powered except for one electric model.
Here is one lifting off and headed for the sky.
It was a fun day in my world with a lot of nice people with a different hobby then mine.

What great fun!

Good thing the row boat was in the background or I'd have been worried about passengers.

My brother played with gas powered remote control planes when young, but I never got a chance at the controls.

Still looks like fun.

Ah, this brings back memories. My husband and sons used to build and fly radio controlled planes. They had a blast with them -- and after the first one, which met a sad end, they learned to avoid crashes!

Marites said...

that really looks like fun! :) I'd like to play with those planes someday and see if i would be able not to crash it somewhere:)

I can imagine that this was great fun! It needs a great deal of skill, probably! Is it a kind of competition? Thanks for sharing?
Have a great week, Tom!

I love the red and white plane. Very cool shots.

You've stumped me on the guessing game, though!

If you'd like to see my snapshots of a very small, rural New England town, stop by the Pagan's Eye!

Thanks for hosting, I love this theme!

I've never seen a large group like that, only one or two at a time. This looks like a big party, with planes.

and I love your header photo. Quite striking!

How fun is that? My dad used to fly model planes years before remote control. Never on the water, however. I love it!
