Today's Flowers # 42

My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 4 GMT is the post time.

Sometimes you get an opportunity to go to a garden with beautiful flowers to capture. This was the case om Memorial Day when we visited my Son-in-law's Mother's house.
It had beautiful flowers and I was able to shoot to my hearts content. I don't know the name of all the flowers but will note the ones I am sure. The first one was from a basket of yellow pansies.
I'm not sure this ones name but really like the little blooms.
This was e neat flower in pink and yellow.
The Violets were outstanding with lots of blooms.
This was a variation on the one above.
This is a white and yellow petunia.
This was a neat little bloom.
This was a red and yellow petunia.
There were several beautiful Red Rose bushes.
I do hope you enjoyed your trip through the blooms and want to see what others have shown.

Camera Critters # 60

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

My favorite big bird is the Great Blue Heron, it is one of the largest bird in my area. I was driving by Munroe Falls, Ohio at the Cuyahoga River when I saw a heron in the water. This is where the dam formally existed. I stopped at the park and took some photos of the big bird. My friend Tom from Columbus grew up in this town. He always has a neat look at the nature from Ohio.
The heron went to the far shore when some trail walkers went to the lookout and scared him across the river. Lucky for me he did not leave the area.
He walked with purpose along the far shoreline.
He found a place to fish and watched the water.
He ended up on this log and was waiting for a fish to come by for him to catch. I enjoyed the show of this bird in action. Check out the feet on this big boy.
Go to the site above to see a lot of great critters.

Friday Fun Photos - Goats

I'm a little late posting but wanted to share these funny goat shots. We had gone to a winery and I walked the grounds to see their goats.

This one gave me a funny look.
I think this is billy goat gruff. Hey mister, do you have any food?
I'm really pretty hungry, see my tongue.
Please, don't take my photo.
What a fun show they put on.

Sky Watch Friday # 46

Sky Watch Friday is doing really well. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were 300 people last week with beautiful Sky photos. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post.

The start of a day heading to the lake with my boat in tow. This is an early morning view across the cemetery.
The lake shows the similar cloud formation. The water is cold and the cold front weather had closed the fishes mouth.
There is a lot of time to take photos during those times. The head honcho of the Canada Geese was on his rock throne as a Mallard Duck goes whizzing past.
Go and see some other great skies above.

Wednesday Potpourri - Bugs

I know I saw more bugs since I got my camera but since I've met (Joan the bug lady) more are coming around. Click on any of the photos to get more detail.

This was a very small butterfly that I found at Tinkers Creek State Park. It has such great markings for a tiny thing. This is a Common Cabbage White I found in my yard.
This is a small American Copper from my yard.
The little tiny spider on the deck.
This is even a smaller one that matches the deck quite well.
I saw this is a wasp I saw when taking some flower photos.
This is a Tiger Beetle from the Kent Bog. It has that fluorescent green color plus some great spots. This is the closest I will ever come to seeing a real tiger in the wild except for Thomas on his T&S Site. Check it out for great wildlife photos.
Hope you enjoyed getting up close and personal with all the insects.

What Is It XXVII - Answers

I thought that Joan the bug lady might get this but it was tough. I thought Nessie was in Scotland. LOL She really did guess a cricket. Check out the leopard on her site.
#1 What buzzes like a bee, is colored like a bee and looks like a bee? Well, a Bee Fly of course. Check out those fly eyes. Have you ever captured one of them for your site? I thought the eye shadow might say fly to you. Whether in the sun or shade it has great wings.
It is on a different solid Green Hosta plant. Tipper was the first to say bee and Thumbelina said green fly. Combined, they got it. He is a neat little guy, about a 1/4" long is all.
#2 An old time gas nozzle out of history. You turned a handle to get the gas into the glass top and then let gravity fill your tank. We were in Amish country in Ohio. Mary and George made a good guesses but EcoRover guessed a gas pump. He has a neat site in Montana, very nice scenery.
#3 My Giant Blue Hosta after an overnight rain. The water droplets were sweet and pure nectar to the big plant. Notice how the leaves take the water to the roots. It is about 5 foot across.

Ann of The Tombstone Chronicler not only got the raindrops, she also got the Hosta plant. Way to go Ann. For all of you who tried to tell what the light reflection was; it is the sky showing between my house and the Ohio Buckeye Tree. I do hope this was a fun one, every one did really well.

What Is It XXVII

My Worlld is below this post.

Let's have some fun this week on What Is It. There are my typical three and #2 is nothing like the other two.

Check out #1, what is it? This is pretty tricky, even for Joan.
#2 This one is just plain hard. It will take someone with a lot of knowledge.
#3 This could be the easiest if you are pretty sharp with your eyes.
Have fun with them and we will see.

My World # 33

This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were 100 people showing their world to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'. Happy Memorial Day to all who remember the fallen soldiers.

There have been two days in a row for the feeders to be emptied. I am hesitant to call them bird feeders. The Black Squirrel has been getting up there and sharing with all below. There is a Grey Squirrel and a Mourning Dove below.
The Grey Squirrel seems to be enjoying the situation.
The Chipmunk thought this was a good idea so he also got into the feeder. He jumped down but must have climbed up.
I am still taking a morning walk and this morning I got a surprise in a back yard by the soccer field. It is not a statue. I watched it go back in the woods and run across the open soccer field.
You see other worlds from the above link.

Today's Flowers # 41

My friend Luiz from Brazil does the Today's Flowers Meme, check it out. Come and join with your flower photos. Sunday at 4 GMT is the post time.

My wife and I went out to the local farmer's market and got some vegetable plants and hanging baskets for the front porch. The plants are a Pink Double Petunia and are quite full. I did a little dead heading and they are looking super. Did you notice the photographer in the window?
The pair of baskets adorn our front porch. The hostas are really putting on a show on the North side of the house. Some on the other side got burnt from two frosts last week.
This flower has some beautiful blooms.
The doubled up bloom makes this really special.
Check above to see some other great flower photos.

Camera Critters # 59

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

A doe came into that back yard last week. She stayed in the woods and browsed on the brush.
She acted like she knew we were watching.
She stayed alert and continued to graze.
My grandson decided to sneak up on it, when the front door slammed she was gone.
Go and visit some other critters from around the world.

Friday Fun Shots - Funny Ducks

The first thing we do is try to straighten things out. I always like to take a submerged dip to get everything perfect.
Now you do a quick spritz to get covered.
Then you do the big get upo a let it out.
Okay, now we are ready for that date with the girls.
