Birds Through the Year

I thought I would go back through the year and show some of my favorite bird shots.

The first is an American Goldfinch from the Spring in the front yard.
Here is a Killdeer that I captured near my favorite pond this Summer.
Sometimes Killdeer don't leave they just let you shoot.
My favorite color on a bird is the blues of a Blue Jay, they are neat in their attire.
This is our state bird the Cardinal in my Buckeye tree.
This one was on the deck near a post, I removed the deck.
An American Crow in the snow eating something from the roadside. Crows are so hard to get the eyes.
A trip through the year with my commonly seen birds.

FG, I've never seen a Kildeer--other than pictures. Beautiful bird. I can't wait to see my Goldfinches in the spring/summer --when the males are SO colorful. Great pictures---all of them!!!!

Great pictures -- Betsy is already plotting ways to increase the variety of birds she can attract to our house.

Great shots FG! Spring seems so far away for that great green grass.
A few birds have been visiting my feeder though.

You do have a nice bunch visiting you! Especially love the killdeer - they are so funny when they are running across the ground!

Great photos of the birds. We have tons of different birds, but as we all know now, I don't photograph them well. I actually saw a hummer yesterday and this morning!

Very nice! Common...maybe, but very colorful and lovely to look at. Those are some great shots of each one. There have been killdeer at the wetlands recently, but they fly away when I get very close to take photos.

Love all the variety. The killdeer around here run around and act like their wing is brought. But that is because they usually have a nest on the ground that I unknowingly am about to step on. Their eggs are beautiful. Thanks for sharing these.

Enjoyed the music, I'm a country fan too. Also loved the birds. Have same ones in my yard, except Killdeer. First time I've seen one thanks to you. We also get Downy Woodpeckers in winter. Put out a suet block on the bird feeder for them. Occasionally a hawk swoops past the window and all the little birds scatter. Chickadees, Purple Martin also. Thanks for visiting and comments on Mistletoe. Have a great holiday season.

The bird pics are all spectacular-the one where you removed the deck is so neat. And the crow is one of my favorite birds-weird uh?

How did you get those birds to pose for you? Great photographs.

Great birds, I just love the Cardinal, I can't imagine having bright red birds flying around everywhere, dont the local cats just gobble them allup? They are so obvious.
Our New Zeland birds arenot nearly so colourful.

The killdeer bird looks very like our Banded Dotterel which is a shore bird nesting on the beach, they used to be real common but now days with so many bikes and 4WD vehicles driving all over the beaches, destroying the eggs and chicks, they have become quite rare.

FG,
A nice variety of birds! These are my favorites also..and that crow pictures was taken from a neat angle! Thanks for sharing! :)

The Killdeer is bird we never get in our part of the globe. The black crow..well they were wiped out completely several years back from the "west nile virus" so when I do see the odd one now I feel blessed..seriously because It is not right that we have nature disappear!

Hi, just came over from Twisted Fenseposts. I love your bird pictures, we have lots of kildeer, I used to call them roadrunners. WE just put out suet and seeds and we've been watching our birds this morning. I love the cardinals and bluejays, they are so pretty.
