Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.Today I'm showing some recent dragonfly captures. I think this one is a Common White.
This brown one was real cool. The wing is a little battered.
A pair of red ones mating.
This big one would not land but would sit there hovering. I shot it across the stream in the air.
This was a neat brown one with see through wings.
You can see the critters around the world above.

Hi, I found your blog by way of Jo's. Wonderful photography and it sounds like you might like fishing a bit, lol. I live with someone just like that. I'll visit again.
Great pictures. I love the way you caught the light on their wings.
These are really good! I've been chasing these guys all summer for the 'at least fairly good shot' but I guess I should just post what I've got - I'm not getting better at capturing them. :)
Carletta’s Captures.
Very nice Tom!! My Monarch is here!! I now have three more butterflies with the wings drying to be released this afternoon.
Hi Tom,
A good set of photographs. They are interesting insects.
Those veined celephane like wings look so fragile I'm surprised they're not more battered. Love the shadows of the wings especially on the mating pair.
I saw one dragonfly while walking the Virgin River last week, no photo, it had been years since I'd seen one. That's what I get for living in the desert.
Very Cool Shots, I have notice a lot of them around here this year. Usually we only get a couple but there are hundreds I think that is a good sign.
These are so beautiful Tom. Dragonflies are really hard to et proper pictures of. Well done!! :)
I like the texture and sheen of those wings. You have a good eye.
The illumination on the wings is very nice. Very nice photos...
Really nice shots, Tom. You've photographed so well those amazing transparent wings.

About your question, my berries pictures are of February.
You always make me long to capture dragonflies, but alas they don't seem to settle here.
Wow - nice work! Dragonflies are notoriously hard for me to photograph.
More great photos from you, Tom. You always capture such great one. The dragonfly ones are GREAT.
Hope you all are having a great weekend.
Hugs,
Betsy
You must have amazing patience to make all of these great dragonfly captures. They rarely sit still for me!
I love following those when I was a kid...especially since they're abundant where I grew up :D
Wonderful shots Tom.
This is a wonderful assortment of dragonflies. That common white one is quite uncommon for me. I have only seen one!

The dragonflies look just wonderful! Especially love the faint colour and texture on the wings of the last one!

Aww some wonderful Macro's there FG:)
I love seeing the deer in your header each time I visit and your dragonfly photos today are marvelous! So crisp & clear ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Love the detail of their wings-so cool.
I like these, Tom. For some reason I have taken to like dragonflies more and more.
Great dragonfly shots, Tom. I still haven't gotten any post-worthy photos of them this year. Glad you've had better luck!
Interesting pictures, Tom. I can't get a shot of dragonflies because they won't sit still long enough to get focused.
Very nice variety. I never see red ones. I think that first one is a Widow Skimmer and the second an Amberwing, but don't know the others.
It's something I have so much trouble getting pictures of and you do it so well!!
We just don't have dragonfly varieties here like that around the mountains... very few so I barely tie those variety for my flyrod. The fish are smart! But you have some beautiful photos here!!
Nice Dragon captures Tom!

Great shots, FG! I'm very impressed with the detail you were able to capture.
LOVE dragonflies! These are all terrific. I'm sure I've never seen so many kinds in my life, and certainly not in a general locality.
