My My World Tuesday is directly below this one.
This is a mile-stone of sort, 25 What Is It's posts. I will give you just one to guess and let's see how you do. Anyone who gets the right answer goes into a drawing for a prize. Answer will be tomorrow at noon.
What is this photo? I do hope it is a little tough. I do hope this helps. There is no tight crop on this one. Hint - Try to remember where I'm from.
I hope you have better luck now .

"Tough", is that supposed to be a hint? Because it looks like thistle tips in the background of a dried thistle leaf but I can't figure out why it would look like it is in mini bubble wrap. I'll have to think on this a while eh? But check it out, I went out, got fried while moving sprinkler line and redirecting squash vines came back in and still remembered! I think that alone is worth something like a giggle at least!
Wow I just don't know! I'll venture a guess... maybe a plant of some kind w/ a vine running through it. I can't guess anymore specific than that, though. Sorry!
Bet says it's a pumpkin but she has curcurbit vine on brain.
Okay, I give in, I concurbit with my Bettikins, only I am going to go out on a vine and say that it is a zuke stem.
Looks like some sort of fruit, gooseberry like ?
My goodness Tom. I have not seen one of these. The last time was when I was in Florida. I know they make the most delicious wine out of it. Then again, those Florida types will drink almost anything!! :)
Kidding aside, this is a TOUGH one as Lanny says. My guess would be the leaf of a plant. We have it here but I dont have a clue as to what it is called. Ours is nore colorful though, almost like that Josephs Coat.
Hi Tom,
I bet you were “wondering” when I would “wander” over here and solve this for you! I see the Bug Lady has slipped off her rocker again. That poor woman, must be tough loosing one’s mind. Yet we love her still. Josephs Coat, LOL.
Did you get a new macro lens for your camera?
This is clearly a nice macro of the Green Thorned Caterpillar! Sticking a dead Healu leaf on it doesn’t fool me at all! Nice try.
Did you know that the GTC can grow up to 3.5 inches in length and eat four times it own weight in spruce leaves in a single day?
Just a little FYI there for you and your readers.
Craig
Ha! Caterpillar?? Some people have SUCH an imagination!! Anyone can see there are no eyes on this and that it is a cactus. Just because you don't know a plant called a Josephs Coat does not mean that Discovery did not do a whole program on it indicating it powers as a wonderful cure for ulcers and bumped toes.
Tom, maybe we can ban this person from Florida from our sites and get some sanity back.
LOL!! LOL!!
Oh my, it looks like I made this a tough one. I didn't mean too. I'm going to add another photo.
Buckeye!!! seed pod?
Well if you are going to give it away! No I can be even more precise! That is the south end of a north bound Green Thorned Caterpillar!!!
Sorry Tom, unless you label the photo with the name I am not going to get it! LOL
Craig
I have a feeling that Darla is going to win, just because you like her more than Bug Lady and I! But I don't see what a Buck's eye has to do with anything! LOL
Good job Darla!
Craig
It sure doesn't look like buck's eye to me, maybe a bug's eye, but that would be Joan's domain. I'll bet Darla's right, being where you hail from.
Gotta get here before Darla!
Definitely a seed pod but I do not know of what. Darla is so good at this I am sure she is going to be right. :)
My goodness it is going to rain!! Craig actually took my part in something. :)
Oh, I got it!! Is that what we call a burr Tom. It is a kind of weed and sticks to clothing and things?
Silly Bug Lady, it's summer here it's not cold... burrr... lol
Craig
Your hint make me wonder if it is a buckeye? I've only seen them out of the pod.
Whoa, two great finds!
A buckeye husk! And if I'm wrong please forgive me I haven't been east of Idaho.
Buckeye, baby, unopened buckeye!
BTW - that rose in you header is just magnificent.
Yay one I know! Its a Sweet Gum Ball. I have many Sweet Gums growing in my neck of the woods : )
Now that I went back and read your words more closely-I'm thinking its a chestnut-not a sweet gum ball. Unless you have sweet gums in Ohio too. Rats looks like I didn't know this one for sure either! But what fun this is!
Is it the protective cover of the buckeye nut???
I have never seen one in person before but seems like a good guess since you are a buckeye!!
Okay ya'll...I am so NOT good at this at all. I just try to remember the clues that Tom puts out there from week to week...Isn't it so much fun though?
Craig Glenn you are a hoot!
Tom, HE called me a silly Bug Lady!! See what I mean about him!! Just wait till I start my Mystery Monday again and see if he will get anything right? Fat chance of that as I will delete all his remarks.
He is now even cheating on his own Mystery Critter and tells me it is not an elep....I mean camel when I know it is as I have one in my garden!!
LOL!! LOL!!
For the love of Caterpillars! Is it 12:00 yet????
WHAT IS ITTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
LOL
I love this game Tom!
Craig
Craig: Hang in there, it is getting closer. I still can't buy that caterpillar thing.
