This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Louise, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Check out the new layout at the My World site. I will be travelling tomorrow and Wednesday so I will get back to you when I return.
This is a look at the John Davey Arboretum that is across the road from the Davey Tree main office complex. There are plenty of trees surrounding the area hence the name.
A log cabin was moved into the area. The cabin was from Lisbon, Ohio and was built in 1808. From 1808 to 1833, it was the home of a newspaper called The Ohio Patriot. It had been used as a jail house somewhere in its history. It is well restored and a neat place to see as you travel State Route 43 North out of the city. The parking nearby is very poor.
There are a lot of neat sites around the world you can visit by clicking above.

That little cabin is very cute.

That was probably seen as a good sized home way back then but in today's setting it looks so tiny and cute. Neat story ...and btw love your new header shot! Wow!!
Very nice cabin. The turkeys the other day were great. You have a lot more critters than we do in our neighborhood. I've seen turkeys once this year, I think.
Nice new layout! And nice pictures too.
That's a neat cabin.
I love cabin photos, this one's very charming.
Have a great week.

I don't see a chimney, I hope it doesn't get too smokey inside.
I haven't been to a log cabin except on TV. Thanks
Nice cabin and looks a great place to visit Tom.
Love the cute little cabin, neat post and photos.
A lot of the neat sites are close to home. I'll be staying out of the "country" til deer season is over. We have a lot of log cabins in the Hocking Hills.
such a cute log cabin.
funny I live in a wee log cabin (as does your fox photo;-}) and it also was moved here. But mine was not a jail it was a model home. Ha. I guess the little ones can be moved.
Looks like a great place to stroll around and take pics!
Nice to have an arboretum close by. Cute little cabin.
Oh there must be 100's of bugs there Tom!! :)
Love the cabin and it's history-if those walls could only talk : )
Cute little cabin!
How cool that they can move it and keep it intact.
I like the second photo where the cottage is on its own in the middle of no where. Really nice, cute, and tranquil.

I love the history of the cabin...and that it was once a newspaper was intriguing...can't wait to email this to son Wallace (Newspaper Editor always complaining about small building)...maybeb he'll count his blessings!
