This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Louise, Sylvia and myself. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Check out the new layout at the My World site.
The Cuyahoga River is the reason Kent exists. The bridge upstream from the Main Street bridge which I have shown on the My World site is the Crane Avenue bridge. I showed it last Winter after a train derailment closed it down. It is being replaced through the Economic Recovery Act. They are changing the intersection and making better access to the bridge. I am standing to the left of where the new bridge will cross the river.
Standing on the Crane Avenue bridge you can see the construction progressing for the bridge supports.

Enjoy your week!

Sorry, had to delete my previous post. What I should have said was this was a lovely series about the new bridge and area. I also loved the shot of the old bridge on the home page.
Glad to see the money is being used wisely to really make a difference for Kent.
A lot of work has to be done. Interesting pictures.
I love that river!!And lovely fhoto at myworldtuesday too!!
Yes, I agree with Sylvia---I like the autume color by the river. A new bridge is a good thing.
Lovely river! How nice it must be to live so close to a beautiful river...I hope the new bridge serves well!
I never really knew what went into construction, especially roads and bridges until I married a construction superintendent! It's amazing...I remember the train 'wreck' post! (derailment) My neck sure is sore from looking up...LOL
Nope, you can't see where I live! Since I've been scammed a few weeks ago, I know I'm on someone's hit list, so, no thanks!! What a mess! Except for the trees, they are lovely:)
I didn't realize the Cuyahoga River went through Kent.I can remember several years ago the Cuyahoga River didn't have to good a reputaion in Cleveland. A lot has changed for the better. Have a great one
That's an interesting view, my friend. I love the colors.
I really like the how the old bridge looks with it's distinctive and time worn rock. Yet can respect change in traffic needs. Sure hope there is no plan to remove the old bridge. That last view is so serene. Was the river ever used for transportation?
Nice pics Tom.
i would love to print the 3rd pic, have you sign it, frame it and hang it in my living room. it is just so refreshing to look at. Great job my friend.
Love seeing the Cuyahoga River, Tom... I'm sure your community is glad to be getting a new bridge. Good for KENT!
Betsy
How wonderful to have the Cuyahoga River flow through your town. No wonder you're a "fishing guy"! The trees along the way look so colorful with the changing leaves.
I have always longed to live on the riverbank or at least near it. I love the quiet waters with your beautiful fall colours, althought once the bridgework is complete, the reat of it will return to its natural beauty agin.
Nice capture of the kyakers in your host photo.
I really like seeing workers doing their thing. :) Beautiful colors.
Those last couple of shots are real beauties...
These are beautiful, Tom. I can't believe you still have leaves on your trees. Ours have all fallen off!
I just love construction progress. Please let us know the progress on the project.
Gosh Tom, it is beautiful there. I am sure the new bridge and intersection are going to be greatly appreciated.
Lovely place you live in - do post pictures when the bridge is finished. Beautiful.
It's a beautiful place.
Fabulous photos - I especially like the one you have on TMW! Vibrant autumn colours.
Great pictures of the Cuyahoga. It's nice to see Economic Recovery Act construction going on in Kent. How long will it take to build the new bridge.
Such a pretty river to show.
Beautiful pics FG of the river in your World.
Lovely photos as usual! And interesting to see the work with the new bridge.
I love the river scenes. I'm glad the new bridge is being built. This seems like a good use of public funds.
A nice mellow autumnal atmosphere on the parts of the river that aren't being dug around!
I love the views the last two pics show.
So beautiful and serene!
Love the river, the colors and the new bridge. Interesting series.
Those last two shots are beautiful. I remember your post about the derailment and your other bridge posts.
Love that more peaceful shot. Makes me want to get a raft and a paddle....
