The Cuyahoga River Called Me Back

The Cuyahoga called me back to its banks to snap some pictures from below the bridge.

Oh Cuyahoga, your beauty does not wain
as you flow South on your way to the North.
I ask you to give me a little of your time
as you on your your travels go forth.

I know where you're heading as you travel along
the path you must have traveled through eons of time
to the banks of the great lake named Erie your waters do flow
just to satisfy me in this little rhyme.

So go on your way and we're happy to say
Cuyahoga we saw you pass by today.

The old train station above the Cuyahoga which is now The Pufferbelly Restaurant.
Looking upstream through the bridge.
The water looked powerful when it rejoins.
It then goes around the dam and goes to a full flow as it goes on its way.
The downstream rock from above in a close-up.
The trees just past the rock up close.
Across the way we have a fisherman trying his luck.
"Did you catch anything?" from the snow run off swelled Cuyahoga? "No but I caught a 32 inch Northern Pike last year about this time." Well, I say to myself, the water is way too cold. Do you know the water is still below 40 degrees F. The call of the waters is very strong.

Guy- The river is such a different place than when I lived in NE Ohio. I love visiting downtown Kent and Munroe Falls, seeing the Cuyahoga running free. Pretty soon that will be a fantastic stretch of river with all kinds of aquatic life it could have never supported in the past. Also, now that the dam is gone in Kent, it really is kinda plausible that Brady may have actually been able to jump the gorge there!

Hi
Jane says thank you for your nice comment today.
I would walk such a path as this one, camera at the ready. I hope this coming fishing season is one of the best yet.. then we can see the results up close here.

Your photos of the Cuyahoga River are awesome. Beautiful and the waters are powerful as you mentioned and they do look mighty chilly. I don't imagine the fishing was too good.
Perhaps later when the temperature warms up the flow slows down. Or is the flow usually this strong?
Very nice post, I throughly enjoyed it... it's nice to be back here.
