Wednesday Potpourri - Turtles

My walk in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park gave me some small turtle photos. Here are a pair of Painted Turtles sharing a log. One has just emerged from the water. They have some great colors and I have kept them as a kid.
The other turtle I saw was a Red Eared Slider that I used in my What Is It. This was my first shots as I saw him. He was posed so neatly on a cool log. Did you notice his foot and tail reflection?
I zoomed in to get a better look.
My daughter spotted them both, she has a good I for finding nature, Thanks T.
The Cleveland Cavaliers won the first two games of the basket ball play-offs. They easily beat Detroit and now head there to close out the series in 4 games. King James looks unstoppable and is heading for MVP of the league.

Great pictures of the turtles -- I'm glad your daughter spotted them. Since I used to live in Lakewood I'm delighted the Cavaliers are doing so well in the playoffs. Hopefully they'll win this round in four straight.

I love the turtles and I am always trying to spot them over here and have never been too successful at it. We are supposed to have a good population of painted turtles but I guess I must be showing up always at the wrong time!

outstanding turtle photos! In the first one it looks like they are having a disagreement because they are turned away from each other - lol!

Very interesting and fine images of the turtles, Fishing Guy. It's fantastic that during your walks you can see and photograph so many animals, trees, rivers, lakes, flowers etc.

How amazing it must be to be able to see turtles in your walks... where I live can't spot a single one!

Your daughter learned well from you. I like watching turtles. Especially, when they plop in the water.
Great shots, FG.

Hello Tom.
I like that.
This is with a stretched leg, to give balance. An acrobat.

Amazing turtle pics-they should be in a magazine!

I love the way they sit on the logs. Why do they like to sit with their back legs sticking out?? So funny looking, like they are doing a balancing act. I saw several like that. Your photos are great for detail and the reflection is very good of the tail and legs!

I just love painted turtles, all those patterns on their necks and shells. Don't they just amuse you with where and what they attempt to climb up on...I think they have a pretty good sense of balance..
Great shots!
Hope you are doing better and enjoying some warmer temps out there!!
