A would like to share some photos of the Mallard Ducks and the ducklings on the little Fish Creek. The mother does a good job of protecting the little ones.
The ducklings are a neat pair that I have followed a few times to get photos.
They are hard to find as they move through the water.
Try to visit some others critter sites, they are neat.
Moms and babies - precious! I know what you men about following. I tried to follow one this week with a whole trail of little ones behind her but they were so fast I had to give us and settle for a long distance shot :)
Oh yeh, the little ones are so sweet and I've seen some up on the creeks here but by time I get out there, they have disappeared. They are being rather shy this year. I haven't been out as much as I would like to have snapping photos of the little ones, next year I hope to be out in full force!
I've often seen your comments on Joan's blog -awesome lakes in the post below -but I can't see more right now -I'm supposed to be packing (I'm moving) LOL
Sweet ducks! I thought of you this week-I was going down a little 2 lane road and there right in the middle of it were 2 mallard ducks. No water nearby-so who knows what they were doing-but it made me think of you.
Very nice Tom. These remind me of last Friday when I was up on Middle Bass Island botanizing in a fairly secluded area. A hiding female mallard and her 8 or so babies burst out of the vegetation into a pond only about 5 feet in front of where I was walking. It scared the crap out of me.
Hi Tom, An excellent Camera Critters post. It is always great to see the young of any species. I also enjoyed the skywatch series and the deer in Wednesday's post.
Oh ... I love these action shots of the ducklings following mom like this! Beautiful ripples and reflections too. I do love Camera Critters!!! This week I've featured Molly at Happily Retired Gal and Ms Kitty at my 'other' blog ... just because. Hugs and blessings,

How cute the babies are Tom. They get big so quickly but I guess they need to in order to survive.
Great captures of the ducklings!
Beautiful colored waters and reflections! I always enjoy your very fine nature photos, Fishing Guy.

Cool series Tom, the first image is the best in my view.
