Sky Watch Friday is doing really well. Please check out the site and link in if you wish to participate. There were Mr. Linky problems last week but there were a lot of people with beautiful Sky photos. You can link in from my side bar or at the start of this post.
I do love to be on my boat on Lake Hodgson. This was a few weeks ago but we don't always get these Bluebird Skies.
Today was a good example, the day started with a misty rain and the just solid cloud cover. It had rained all day yesterday. I was lucky enough to have a Green Heron land in a tree on the shore in front of me. These little herons are hard to see in a tree with leaves but this is easier in the dead tree. Don't ask me why it is a Green Heron.

Definitely a contrast in skies FG!
Lovely reflections in the first one and I even like those dark skies in the second - nice composition.
Nice fishing!
My post is here: Carletta’s Captures.
Hi Fishing
The first take is fabulous!
Great image and reflex!
Lovely landscape also!

Great post FG. love your photographs.
Glad you put the fish back. Your reward must have been the bird coming so close.
The skies are never the same, yet always full of beauty and wonder!
I love your black squirrel post!
I love to watch Green Herons. And love your skies, whether blue or gray!
Perfectly still water, as well. Looks like a good day to be fishing.
Our herons are grey or white.
Fine pics.
Nice captures and great catch.
Great pics as always, Love the reflection in the first one especially.
Have a great weekend.

Hi Tom, One never knows about the weather, do we??? One minute the sky is blue and the next minute the storm clouds roll in!!!!!
We thought we were going to get a 'whopper' of a storm today--and we got NOTHING. It went all around us... SO--who knows!!!
Looks like a good catch though...

I dont mind cloudy days. I love them.
There is no such thing as a bad day fishing.Best way to spend a day.And the photos are good too!
Nice shots...I like the moody sky...Nice large mouth bass...had a pond full of them when lived in the country, and just caught them over and over again...very relaxing.
Oh oh oh! That first one is just perfect! So simple and so... less is more. Definitely. Great shot.
And the others, but I like that first one best. (Maybe the green heron is albino? Ha!)
I really like the last photo. It almost looks like grey water and the fish is color.
My husband has an Ugly Stick....we were going to go fishing tomorrow since Lorelei's dad had the day off but now we are supposed to have rain.
I like your sky shots, also.
Wow, Tom, that first picture is BRILLIANT!
Nice contrasting skies. Many thanks to those of you who somehow keep Mr Linky up & running!
First one is fantastic.

You've captured it all beautifully in these shots! How mellow and calming to just relax and be able to take it all in.
The first picture is outstanding. The lake and sky are equally calm.
Blessings,Ruth
Love those reflecting photos!!!
What a contrast, FG! Terrific shots! Interesting -- the green heron! And that was a big fish! The first shot is breathtaking!
like the bass you caught...wowza.
i am so wanting to get a smallish boat to take out on lake moomaw this summer. probably will wind up using a friend's.
have a most lovely weekend.
Love the first shot. Great reflection shot! Nice!
Wonderful! I haven't seen any green herons yet this year at the wetlands. Nice looking bass.
I like the first photo. Very symmetrical. :D
Have a wonderful weekend.

Great post. And nice fish! Glad to see he went back into the lake.
Nice fish shot!
What a beautiful world.
I love the reflections in that first photo. I'm rather a sucker for reflections !! :-)
The heron looks as though it has green on it's head, perhaps that's why someone decide to call it Green Heron. It's a cute little bird. perched up there in the tree..
Great shots !!!
Great images, Fishing Guy!
It must be really thrilling to take photographs from one's boat in the middle of the water!
Tom these are wonderful photos and you passion for your little piece of this earth is very obvious. Thank you for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

It seems like the weather is unpredictable everywhere right now, here too. One minute it is hot the next cold, then sunshine, then rain. So many people are getting sick because of it. Love the first pic Tom. That sure looks like a great fish. Why did you throw him back?
nice ones...
Sky and fishing go hand in hand for a fisherman has to watch the sky and its mood and temper before he can fish. :)

Two very different skies for sure! Nice.
Your first photo is wonderful with that reflection of the clear blue sky and the trees. The second one isn't bad either, there's a lot of action going on in that grey sky.
Enjoy your weekend!
Great Pics!! ALL of them
Nice Bass!!
Hope you have a great weekend.
Lovely reflection shot! It's my favorite... well, I also like the squirrel shot below. Too funny!
Really good.
Better late than never Tom.. :O)
Great set of Sky Watch shots.. love the reflection... and that fish looked a good size to me..
Very beautiful photo for SWF. Make me feel so close to nature.
The weather is very unpredictable but if you want to make an educated guess on rain. But we must remain positive. No matter what--- rain, heat, high humidity---it all beats snow in January and February. Hope you get to fish with your grandkids this weekend.
I enjoyed your lake post. Even in the dark and misty photo, there is such beauty in a body of water. I myself love living so close to water: a large river, a pond and a small lake.
Thank you for sharing.
Great pictures. I am not much of a fisherman but it does seem like cloudy days are better than clear days for me. Nice fish that you brought in. Great that you put it back.
I got behind again and missed so much. Love the heron and the squirrel. It is too hot here for even the squirrels.... :)
I really enjoyed the shots. I wish we'd get a little more rain. Mostly we get those blue skies like in the first shot. Nice but boring after a while.
Love the 2 different skies-and congrats on the bass : )
Love the skies in that 2nd shot, the way the clouds appear to be sitting on the tree horizon line.
Great shot of the heron -- green, huh? Maybe I'll have to look that up on Wikipedia and find out why they call it that. :)
Hope you're having a wonderful Ohio weekend!
